I reviewed Basic Burger in Tyson’s months ago and gave it five stars. However, after my meal there today, I had to come back and provide an update. My husband and I really like a good cheeseburger and we were frequenting Basic Burger atleast once every 2 weeks. Upon our visit today, we were shocked when we bit into our burger and immediately noticed that the burger had no flavor…it even looked slightly gray and didn’t have the same taste that we had become accustomed to. The french fries were also different and were reminiscent of cheap frozen fries. Just really disappointed in how much the quality of the food had gone down hill, despite the high prices. I didn’t even mind paying the high price initially because the food was that good. But, after today, I will never go back again. I am sitting here with the worst stomach ache and severe disappointment that I allowed myself to eat that many calories for a meal that left me feeling ill. Before I left the establishment today, I did ask one of the employees if the food (burger meat and fries) had changed and she confirmed that both had changed and she would let the owner know our thoughts. Super...
Read moreHad a burger craving on a Monday night (as one does), and stepped in on a whim. The space is very well designed: it’s in an old industrial section of Tyson’s that’s popping up tons of fast casual food places, and the vibe was perfect. You order at a kiosk, which honestly I have mixed feelings about, because I think remembering that it’s not robots making my food, it’s in real life humans… but I have to say, the kiosk is nice because it walks you through the options the way only a robot can. And thanks to all the options popping up, I was able to add the crown jewel of burgers: a drippy egg. Wow. The food did not disappoint. My burger was delicious, and everything on top of it was fresh and complimented it perfectly. The sweet potato fries were crispy on the outside and so sweet and soft on the inside. The staff was super friendly and approachable, the environment was clean, and there were even little holders for the trays to show you where to put them (aka not the trash). My husband said the hot chicken was good, but could have been a little spicier for his taste. But honestly, 10/10, will...
Read moreirst and last time at Basic Burger. I tried at least 10 times to order "pick up" on line. It wouldn't work so I called the restaurant. The young man who answered was pleasant but kept repeating like a parrott that Inhad to order online because they have no way to take orders (it's a self-ordering place). He wouldnnot listen to the fact that the online ordering was not working for pickup. Since they are a new place, I wanted to support tham and give them a chance so I went to the restaurant and ordered. $10 for a basic single cheeseburger. $4.39-ish for onion rings. Flavorless burger. Small portion of onion rings with some unknown substance or dirty oil fried in to them (see photo below). I took one and threw the rest away. There were two napkins in my bag. One was covered in greasy finger prints. I understand that I am ordering a greasy burger and they are wearing greasy gloves. However have a bit of common sense before you assemble the bag. No one wants to wipe their greasy mouth with an already greasy napkin. Good luck to Basic Burger. They have a lot of employee training...
