Review for Bella Vita Italian Restaurant, Springfield, VA
My mom and I visited Bella Vita for lunch, and honestly, it was a total letdown. We ordered a Philly Cheese Steak Sub, expecting it to come with lettuce and tomato as stated on the menu. It didn’t. When we asked the girl at the front how big the sub was, she vaguely said, "Oh, I don't know. I guess they're pretty big. I can't finish one," without showing us or explaining further. Turns out, the sub was just 8 inches—a pretty skimpy portion, even for us petite eaters.
The fries? Soggy. 🍟 The water? Just water. 💧 The meat was overcooked and lacked flavor, while the peppers and onions were undercooked and completely unseasoned. The bread wasn’t toasted, buttered, or griddled before the meat was added. And instead of the classic cheeses you’d expect—like Whiz or provolone—they slapped mozzarella on it. MOZZA-FREAKING-RELLA. 🤯
The decor didn’t save the experience either: fake plastic vines and grapes that looked cheap and out of place. It gave the whole place a tacky, outdated vibe. 🍇

I love tomato sauce, but this was like 80% sauce 20% cheese, which was just weird. So much sauce. and the crust tastes like frozen pizza crust. It's got that frozen-y texture. My husband couldn't even finish a slice and he's a human...
