Brought in water bottles for kids and was immediately told we had to go put them back in our car. I can't recall the last time I've been told to do that.
While ordering, the instructions on the kiosk were confusing. When we asked to clarify, at first we were ignored and then were given unclear instructions in a rude manner.
Waited about 20 minutes for our food. Was noticeably slow - there were no other customers ahead of us and only a couple mobile orders during that time.
Later asked if they had any hot sauce and one of the workers said they did and went to get some for me - the manager then came out and said it would be a dollar extra charge. Really?
We go to the Shirlington location often and it is one of my family's favorite go-to places. Although the food is similar (the taste at Shirlington is better), the overall service experience could not be more different. I will not be coming back to this location again. I feel like it is pretty difficult to provide poor service at a fast casual "chain", but somehow this location has done it. I don't know if this is a franchise location, but if this is a company-owned location, they need to reevaluate management and their service approach and standards across locations. If Shirlington is an A, this...
Read moreWe went to Big Buns in McLean with our two children, ages 5 and 9, looking forward to enjoying dinner outside. Unfortunately, the person who took our order was not friendly. He seemed in a hurry and was loud, despite there being no one else waiting. I kindly asked him to be more patient, considering we were with our kids, but his attitude did not improve.
After placing our order, we chose to sit outside. When our food was ready, I noticed his colleague struggling with our four trays, so I offered to help. Later, my wife mentioned that he had made a rude gesture as I walked past him. I didn't understand why because I was just trying to help.
Regrettably, the unpleasant experiences did not end there. After my daughter used the bathroom, the same man who took our orders approached us with his phone, showing pictures of soap spills on the floor. He blamed my daughter for making a mess shortly after it had been cleaned. My daughter apologized and tried to explain that the soap dispenser was too runny, which only added to our disappointment.
We had hoped for a pleasant evening at Big Buns, but we left feeling disrespected. It is my sincere wish that no one else receives such poor treatment. The way they acted was not right. We won't go back to Big...
Read moreGenerally this place is decent. However, I was disappointed with my visit here today.
My biggest issue was with one of the workers. I got and paid for a fountain drink, so I managed to grab a cup from the pile since they were in plain sight. Then when the person serves my burger, he proceeds to tell me that it's a water cup and I needed to dump my entire soda out. I then ask him to grab me a "proper" soda cup and he then investigates all the receipts to see if I paid for a fountain drink or not, which was quite annoying and time consuming. Clearly the guy forgot to give me a fountain drink cup. It's literally a cup, so I don't see why this needs to be a big deal.
The burgers here are mediocre in my opinion. However, I have always liked their unicorn milkshakes and are some of the most creative milkshakes I've seen (I unfortunately did not manage to get one of those today).
This place would have been an 8/10 for me, but because of the situation with that specific employee today, I did not think it was worth upgrading the review score. Again, there's absolutely no need to make it a big deal...
