So, we have been to many Bonefish restaurants across the US. It is a conundrum for us. They look nice from the outside. The inside has perfect lighting for dining, not too bright, not too dim. The décor is very inviting. The wait staff all wear white chef-like jackets with the Bonefish insignia. The tables all have white tablecloths and are setup attractively. Everything is clean. Then the “faults” start creeping in. The service is invariably erratic. On this particular evening in Charlottesville, it was a Monday and not busy. We were seated promptly in the bar area, and the waitress immediately appeared and asked if we were ready to order. Um, no, we haven’t even looked at the menu. So, she left … and we waited and waited. She was struggling to keep up with the few tables she had, and our interactions with her were few and far between. When she finally returned, we asked if we could taste a couple wines before ordering a bottle, and she seemed to have no idea what we were talking about. She managed to get us a couple tastes, and we ordered a bottle of wine which she almost spilled all over the table. (On a side note, there are tons of wineries and breweries here but the menu has very few local options.) We ordered the filet and salmon special. The entrees arrived in a reasonable amount of time. The plating was far from special with no garnishes. The filet was definitely the winner. It had good flavor and was cooked perfectly to medium rare as ordered although there was a bit of gristle in it. The salmon was decent but overcooked for our tastes. The coleslaw was a mystery. Basically, it was grated cabbage and carrots with no discernible dressing. The whipped potatoes were pretty good as far as flavor, but they were gluey and had a light crust on them when they arrived at the table. The Caesar salad was basic but fresh and had very finely grated parmesan. My personal pet peeve - dirty dishes remained on the table far, far too long. So again, the outward appearance is pretty “wow” but the execution is lacking.

It had been years since I last went to Bonefish Grill, and honestly, I thought the chain had disappeared. I was pleasantly surprised to see it still going strong—and even more surprised by how great the food was. The pork chop with mango salsa was absolutely fantastic: juicy, tender, and bursting with flavor. The sweetness of the mango balanced the richness of the pork perfectly, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone who isn’t in the mood for seafood but still wants something memorable. That said, the seafood options shine too. The salmon special was cooked just right, flaky and moist, with the lime sauce adding a bright, fresh kick that elevated every bite. It’s clear they take care with how they season and pair their proteins. The atmosphere was relaxed but still polished, making it a solid choice for both casual dinners and a nicer night out. Service was attentive without being overbearing, and the pacing of the meal was just right. All in all, Bonefish Grill delivered way beyond my expectations. Whether you’re craving something from the land or the sea, you’ll find high-quality, well-prepared dishes here. I’ll definitely be coming back sooner this time.

My wife, two six year old twins, and I went here over the past weekend for lunch. We were in the area to go to Target and wanted to eat someplace that we don’t normally eat. We chose Bonefish for the proximity to the Target location. Right off the bat my girls loved the revolving door to enter the location. The hostess must have seen us coming and had menus ready, including children’s menus with Crayons. We were seated immediately and were greeted by a very friendly server. Our ordering of drinks, appetizer, and food went flawlessly. The food was great! My daughters had the the Mac and cheese, my wife the clam pasta and I had blackened shrimp with Mexican street corn. The two items that my wife and I had were on the specials menu. Everything was delicious! Overall this was a great dining experience and we would certainly go there again!

🥳Bravo! 🦴Bonefish Grill🐟 runs 🏃🏻‍♀️away with the ball 🏈 scoring a touchdown like a champion and wins the game! 🏆 making guests rush the field to dine here🌅

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Five stars across the board, UVA touchdown and rush the field to this 🎣restaurant, an outstanding dining experience!👍🏻

🍤Bonefish Grill at Hollymead Town Center in Charlottesville, Virginia is one of the best-run restaurants I’ve ever visited. Every detail from the moment you walk in, to the moment you leave, reflects true professionalism and pride in service.

The atmosphere is warm, stylish, and impeccably clean. The décor is elegant without being overdone, and the seating is spacious and comfortable. The entire space feels inviting and thoughtfully designed. I’d love to see a large fish tank with live fish in the restaurant.🤌🏻

🍣The seafood and non seafood 🥩is always fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Whether dining in or picking up, the quality is exceptional and consistent. The pricing is more than fair for what you get, high-quality ingredients, careful preparation, and an experience that’s always worth it.🍰

The hospitality is where this location truly shines. Every employee from the chefs and servers to the person who brings out your takeout, food is packaged, polished, professional, and genuinely welcoming.👏🏻

👩‍🍳Even the youngest team members carry themselves with the kind of maturity and grace you’d expect from a five-star establishment. You don’t see this often, teenagers who are better trained and more respectful than some adults in other places. The adults on staff show such care, patience, and class that you’d think they had degrees in customer service. This is what hospitality and restaurant service should look like everywhere.

🛣️The location is another plus: Hollymead Town Center has everything, Harris Teeter stores, multiple salons, Target, Kohl's, PetSmart, casual takeout spots like Five Guys, and sit-down restaurants like the Sakura Japanese steakhouse, all within walking distance. Starbucks blew it by closing this location, Whether you’re running errands, visiting local businesses, or staying at a nearby hotel, 🦴Bonefish Grill is the perfect stop and dine dine in or takeout.🥡

🤔When I have endless choices, even on a budget, with a good income. As a 🇺🇸U.S. federal government employee for 40+ yrs and senior citizen. One of my favorite restaurants to dine alone or with family and friends and pick up food in all of Charlottesville, VA. 🦞Bonefish Grill is one of my top 10 restaurants in Charlottesville, Virginia. 🥰The consistency has been outstanding for many years. I keep coming back here because it’s simply the best and can’t be beat. 🚙I’ll drive to it if I’m far away and I’ll stay close to it. 🏡

🦀Bonefish Grill has complied with ADA in every way Unlike any business I’ve ever seen, which is a big compliment. 🥳Celebrating 35 Years of the the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)♿️. This location deserves special recognition for its outstanding accessibility and ADA compliance.🥇

🦈Bonefish Grill stands out as a model of how a business can truly include everyone of any age and income. Handicap parking spaces are not only right at the main entrance but also by the pickup door. Making it easy for anyone, whether using a walker, wheelchair, cane, service dog, or simply needing extra space, to get in, out, and enjoy their meal without barriers. It’s a shining example of accessibility standards that ensure people with disabilities can stay active, dine out, and fully participate in community life. 🐕‍🦺

Review: My recent visit to Bonefish Grill was characterized by a mix of positive and negative elements. While the service provided by our waitress was commendable and attentive, the culinary aspect of our dining experience left much to be desired.

Upon placing my order for a medium-cooked steak, I eagerly anticipated savoring a perfectly prepared dish. However, when the steak arrived at our table, it was immediately evident that it fell short of my expectations. The steak appeared significantly undercooked, resembling a rare rather than the medium doneness I had requested.

Grateful for the helpfulness of our waitress, I politely requested a replacement, hoping to enjoy the meal as intended. However, my disappointment deepened when I was informed that the kitchen would simply take the steak back and return it to the grill.

While I understand that mistakes happen, I was disappointed by the lack of initiative to prepare a fresh steak to meet my specifications. Merely reheating the same piece of meat did little to reassure me of the quality or safety of the dish.

Despite the setback with the steak, the remainder of our dining experience proceeded smoothly, thanks in large part to the attentive service provided by our waitress. Her efforts to ensure our comfort and satisfaction did not go unnoticed and are a credit to Bonefish Grill's commitment to customer service.

In reflection, while the overall experience was marred by the mishap with the steak, the attentive service offered a glimmer of positivity. Moving forward, I hope Bonefish Grill considers enhancing its culinary standards to ensure that all patrons enjoy a consistently excellent...
