My mother ordered food on Door Dash, and when she arrived at the restaurant, no one was at the pickup counter or in the kitchen, but a young woman was in the sitting area wiping the booths down. After waiting for 5 minutes, she was rudely asked by the young lady what she needed and had a take out bag recklessly slung at her as if my mother was bothering or interrupting her. Turns out the young woman ended up giving her the wrong order because she never asked what the name on the order was, and then informed my mother that the computers were down, and that it would be a while until her food would be ready. After another 15 minutes goes by, more customers came into the restaurant and started getting their food before my mother got hers. A kind customer informed the staff that my mother had been waiting a lot longer than her for her food and the staff proceeded to comment, “And?” as if they could care less about how long she was waiting. The behavior displayed at this Captain D’s is extremely disappointing especially since we have been customers at this restaurant for over 20+ years. If you you want to be nasty and rude to people, then you don’t need to be working in customer service or the restaurant...
Read moreI knew I was in the right place, when I saw a Cadillac parked in the parking lot. It is a place with an unassuming name--Captain D's. Inside, I carefully perused the abundant menu choices and settled on blackened trout with a baked potato and broccoli. After waiting a mere 15 minutes or so, I was pleasantly surprised with the excellent quality of the food. The trout was a succulent as could be imagined and was served on a delicious bed of American rice. A bonus, incredible-tasting bun was also provided. The bun reminded me of one of the most famous donuts in America, minus the sugar glaze, but just as good. And, then there was the baked potato. Baked to perfection. I chose butter over sour cream, and that made the potato an end in itself. I could have been satisfied with just the potato. The slightly wilted broccoli was cooked to perfection and provided some of the fiber that I need every day. As a money-saving measure, I made my own lemonade with ice water and several freshly cut lemon slices and a couple of sleeves of sucralose that I brought from home. Absolutely delicous! All in all, this was a meal fit for an American...
Read moreWent to Captain D's for lunch as I do once a week. Today the GM was there so I thought I might tell him about my last visit, was actually excited to talk to him. I asked him where they back to using the regular batter for fried pickles he said yes. I told him I get them every time I come but last time they were cooked in the fish batter and not the regular batter, I told him they were stuck together and I couldn't eat them. He said yes they do get stuck together sometimes but the same batter was used. I know it was a different batter because I get them weekly. I told him I was unable to eat them and didn't call or come back because I was on lunch break and unable to come back. I asked him could they be replaced today for that fact, he told me he cannot replaced them because I did not call back that day but next time if I have a issue make sure I call back and they would take care of it for me. I was in shock I was talking to a GM and got that response. I have never had an issued with this location before and come so much the workers know me but today was...
