I love Lidl, lemme just start there. I usually shop at the one in Midlothian, but I work closer to the one in Henrico. I went in to get a few things and I go to ring up and after it was done I realized that my bacon was too expensive. I told the cashier about it and she proceeded to argue with me saying that I looked at the wrong thing. Her name was Jessie, with blond hair at the very last register today, March 5, 2018. I have Ample customer service experience, and this is not how you treat a customer. Even after I went back to the shelf and explained to another associate that the price had just been changed after I picked up my bacon, Jessie still proceeded to tell me that I was wrong. This is not OK. I got the bacon at the price listed when I picked it up, but the point here is that that associate could have had a better attitude. This is the first bad experience I have had at Lidl, but I will make an effort to stay in Midlothian...
Read moreI'm primarily comparing Aldi and Lidl in this review (I like Aldi better), but Lidl is still a five star operation. First, the staff are helpful, friendly, and efficient. The store is large and immaculate, and every shelf and aisle is wide and uncluttered. You don't need a quarter to grab a cart here, unlike Aldi. Lidl is also much larger than Aldi, with more parking, with a wider and larger selection of items. This includes more name brands, if that's important to you. The house brands are very similar, if not the same, between Aldi and Lidl. Aldi, however, is cheaper and that's where Aldi wins the grocery game. If you're comparing Lidl to Kroger, then Lidl is easily five stars. The quality of Lidl's house brands are higher than Kroger's, and the prices are lower, but no one beats Aldi yet. Lidl does have a nice bakery unlike Aldi, but that's less important to me.
So, in short, my rankings are:
I decided to go inside to grab a couple items, I made my way to the register which I only had a hand full of items, The cashier rang up my belongings, My total came out to $10, I swipe my card $6 dollars was deducted from my total. Meaning I didnât have enough on my card. I knew I had a pocket full of change, it wouldnât take me NO time to count out the remaining total , I started counting my change , I noticed cashier became frustrated with me counting my change. There was a lady Behind me that offered to pay the rest Of my total. I hesitated and told her I didnât need her to do that but she refused to listen,I said thank you , than gathering My items, As I was walking out the store I heard the cashier and the lady laughing at me , one of the most embarrassing feeling ever. I almost felt like going back and returning everything I just purchase. I donât think I ever...
