Chester Junction — Restaurant in Virginia

I’ve been coming here for a few years now, but last night was terrible. It’s the first time I’ve been in awhile but I recognized the bartender and cook. Food was okay as always but the service was terrible. Several guest including me were asked to stop playing songs on the juke box because a customer at the bar was getting irritated his song wasn’t playing. Me and other customers were baffled because we paid just as the other person did to hear music. After I said that wasn’t really fair because there was a que in order, but I understand and will stop requesting songs, every drink was weak after that and took a long time to come out. When it was time to close mine and my friends tabs we left 20% as always and were demanded we needed to leave more tip. After that was said from the bartender it was just confirmation I should never return again. Worst experience I have ever had at a bar and that says a lot...

Cute little dive in the heart of Downtown Chester, VA. The regulars, people who have been coming there for years, affectionately still refer to Sonny's Chester Junction as Crossflights. Apparently the owners have changed along with the name, but a good portion of the staff has been there forever! Looking for a friendly game of pool or a dart tournament? Sonny's has you covered. They also have karoke and trivia nights. Food is good and beer is inexpensive. Most of the bartenders are pretty good, but, just like everywhere else, you can get a relatively not so great server from time to time. One of the few smoking bars left in the Richmond area, which is both a help and a hindrance. All in all, pretty good value...

Well, there wasn’t an experience because old white lady with glasses working the night of May 25th, 2025 denied me and my partner service when we got there at 10:30pm(online it says they closed at 12 midnight). She directly told me “we’re closed” with a smile on her face, NO LONGER THAN 5 mins goes by 2 males & 1 female go to the door - one guy yelling “It’s only 10:30!” The lady old lady opens the door for them and tells them “don’t dirty up my bar”, one guy says “we’re not”….. and she lets them in. I truly believe that we were denied entry due to our skin color. The 3 ppl she let in were Caucasian like her, me and my partner are...
