When we arrived only received 6 messages that te table was being prepared; never that it was ready. After 15 minutes decided to foto the host and ask and she said that it was ready. She then takes us to a table and does not give us cutlery, only napkins. After 12 minutes the server, Elijah, tells us that he’ll be right back. 10 minutes after he comes back. We were already starving and ready to order, which we did. 35 minutes later a girl comes to our table, we take our hands off the table thinking that it was our food and before I could say anything she says “this is not yours”. Ok, I said. I could swear it was ours because it was the exact same order. She then gives it to the table behind us. 15 minutes later I ask the server, since he had not stopped by our table at all, if our food would take longer dice we had already being waiting for 50 minutes. He said that we should have gotten our food already, as if we were hiding it or something. I told hi the girl said it was not ours and have it to another table. The server the. Goes to the table behind us and I hear the gentleman say “I knew it wasn’t ours, but l already took a bite off of it”. It was the steak! We had ordered a steak. I was upset. The server then tells me that the girl who delivered food said that she asked us and we said no. Now that REALLY pissed me off. Not only was she wrong, she was lying and making it seem that it was our fault. As if we did not want to eat. I then tell the server that what she said is not true and he goes to talk to a manager. 10 minutes later the manager comes and tells us that the food will be out in 5 minutes. I told him again what happened and he said he would comp us the steak meal. As if that would make it better. How on earth is a steak going to be ready in5 minutes, and the pancakes, etc… 8 minutes later the food comes. HORRIBLE, the pancakes were hard and black (burnt), I had asked for no sausage/double bacon, received sausage, no bacon, the ham seemed like it had been cooked more than 3 times, it was tiny, thin, dry and burnt. My son did not eat the pancakes because they were horrible! Also, we never received utensils. Had to ask for them. The server brings us 3 sets, we were 4 people. I had to get up and ask the hostess for an extra set of utensils. The server came to check and asked if everything was fine. I told him no and said what was wrong. I asked him for the check because like I told him, we just wanted to leave. 10 minutes later, still no check and the hostess, Evelyn, who never gave us the utensils in the beginning asks if we were done eating. I said yes, and she said “I’ll take the plates because we don’t have any available for the rest of the people”. I said, ok? She takes half of the plates and says she’ll come back and bring the check because I asked her for it also since it’s been 20 minutes and nothing from the server. She leaves and nothing. I then ask the server AGAIN for the check and when he brought it I told him thank you but we would not be coming back. This is not the only bad experience we’ve had at CB. We were just giving it another chance but it’s been disappointments after disappointment. CB, do better. It’s not like it was packed and you were running on fumes. This was at 9:30am. It seems that there is a hot mess and you have lost us as customers. We don’t expect to have a perfect experience but it was one thing after the other and the lack of care was outrageous. We don’t expect to have a free meal; we gladly pay for it. But when we go out as a family we love to have a nice time and kids get hungry. Is hard to keep...
Read moreMy family and I visited this Cracker Barrel. This was my family who had never been to any Cracker Barrel. We had a waitress who obviously was having a bad day. We were seated then our waitress Ms. D, (out of respect I will not state her full name) ask what would you all like to start with ordering your drinks? We ordered two coffees and 1 Strawberry Lemon. Waitress Ms. D ask is there anything else? I said yes can you add a water with "No Ice" please.
Waitress Ms. D brings the beverages and ask me I know you ask me to bring you something but I am not sure what it was.
I stated I ask for you to add water "No Ice" The waitress Ms. D became upset and said okay I guess I have to go back and get you another water.
I stated its okay I will take the one you brought with the ice.
Waitress Ms. D never offered an apology for her mistake she asked if we know what we want to order? Both of my Cousin order 2 of the same meal Grits, scramble eggs w/cheese and impossible sausages.
I order my usual with pancakes, bacon and "Easy Over Eggs".
We waited 15 minutes Our waitress Ms. D and our food came out all of the eggs was scramble w/cheese and burnt bacon.
I informed our waitress the order is incorrect can you please take it back this is not what I ordered.
Waitress Ms D stated "You don't have to be rude, You had an attitude since you been here"
I informed our Waitress Ms. D "Stop talking you are being totally disrespectful right now please get your manager now!!!
It got worse she kept talking to the point I had to rise my voice demanded that she stop talking and get your manager .
The manager came to our table I informed him that this is the first time I have experienced this type of behavior and accusations of your waitress Ms. D accusing me of being rude when in fact she was aggressive and argumentative and got our order wrong.
This is not the impression you can afford having a waitress disrespecting customers for her mistakes of not getting our order correct and serving cold and burnt food.
The only option the Manger offered was to give us a new waiter/waitress and the food looked disgusting.
I informed the Manger that I am going to give a hard No!!
Then the manager offered to not charge for the meals.
I informed the manager being that you did not offer an apology rgarding your waitress behavior. I will pass on your offer because it wasn't about getting a free meal or a new waitress it was about the experience that I wanted to share with my family who "Never dine at a Cracker Barrel " It was ruined by your waitress Ms. D. I will take my family some where else to eat.

Read moreAh, Cracker Barrel. A name that conjures images of rocking chairs, checkered tablecloths, and a certain… rustic simplicity. One does not typically enter such an establishment expecting a gastronomic epiphany. One expects comfort, perhaps, predictability, certainly. Yet, on a recent, unassuming visit, I found myself confronted with a series of culinary offerings that, dare I say, transcended mere expectation.
Our guide through this homespun tableau was a young woman named Shay, whose attentiveness was as unpretentious as the fare itself, a refreshing counterpoint to the often-stifling obsequiousness one encounters elsewhere.
The repast began with a platter of scrambled eggs, bacon, and their signature hashbrown casserole. The eggs, a vibrant yellow, were not over-tormented, retaining a pleasing moisture. The bacon, that stalwart of the American breakfast, achieved a commendable crispness without succumbing to brittleness. And the hashbrown casserole – a comforting, cheesy amalgam that, while perhaps not the peak of culinary artistry, possessed an undeniable, almost nostalgic, deliciousness.
Then arrived the pancakes, an edifice of fluffy, golden discs, generously adorned with fresh strawberries, a dusting of powdered sugar like a gentle snowfall, and a dollop of cream that threatened to melt into blissful surrender. These were not mere griddle cakes; they were a testament to the simple joy of well-executed batter, light and airy, a perfect vehicle for the accompanying syrup.
Even a more robust offering, the steak and eggs, presented with another serving of that satisfying hashbrown casserole, did not falter. The steak, cooked to a surprising tenderness, its surface bearing the honest marks of the grill, paired harmoniously with the perfectly fried eggs, their yolks yielding with a gentle prod.
And for those inclined towards a more… midday repast, the chicken tenders and fries. Often a pedestrian offering, these tenders possessed a surprisingly delightful crunch to their coating, revealing moist, flavorful chicken within. The accompanying frites were crisp, golden, and appropriately salted – a simple pleasure, executed with care.
In a world awash with culinary pretension, there is a certain courage in offering straightforward, well-prepared food that aims not to astonish, but to satisfy. My experience at Cracker Barrel, guided by the capable Shay and evidenced by these surprisingly tasty and delicious entrees, was just that: a profoundly pleasant, unpretentious, and, yes, genuinely enjoyable meal. Sometimes, the most delicious truths are found in the most...
