I wanted to love it, but the vibe was weird. When we went in there was only one other person waiting on an order, we walked straight up to the register and ordered our food. My husband ordered a bagel sandwich with a chai latte and I ordered the eggs benedict with a regular latte. Our drinks were ready very quickly. As we sat down the line started to form, with about 4-5 people/orders walking in right as we sat down. I took photos because I like to add them to my reviews, but it also allowed me to check the times to make sure I wasn't just imagining it.
From order to table my husband's food took 20 minutes, and mine took another 10 minutes after that, so thirty minutes - I told him to eat but he wanted to wait for me, and then of course his food wasn't warm by the time my plate arrived. I'm not sure if it's just that the eggs benedict takes too long and maybe shouldn't be on the menu, or if they don't have a warmer so they bring things out as their ready - usually with meals on the same ticket places try to bring stuff out at the same time. I don't know if 30 minutes is reasonable for a fast-casual kind of place, but it seems kind of long considering there was only one person waiting ahead of us. It seemed like the staff were very focused on getting all of the drink orders ready that came after I placed my order, so maybe it's just prioritizing that is a little off.
PRO: Lots of plugs, so it's great if you need to get together with a bunch of people on laptops. I know that can be hard to find so definitely good for that scenario!
Unfortunately, I chipped a tooth on the rock-hard bacon under the egg in my sandwich, which is a bummer but can happen anywhere. Just kind of made the whole experience feel a little worse.
Additionally, there were biblical references around the shop. That's fine, and to each their own, but isn't really the kind of place I could recommend meeting my clients at.
I'd definitely go again to order a drink, the food was pretty good, but maybe plan to hang out for a while if you're going...
Read moreI want to start off by saying the place is a cute spot with a variety of delicious food and drink options. My husband and I enjoyed coming here and I had brought several friends both who live locally and friends who were visiting internationally.
On February 28, my husband and I ordered from Door Dash, it said the kitchen was opened until 3p. We get to the location to learn the kitchen closes at 2p, which was a discrepancy on their part. At the moment, we were bummed because we were hungry but said okay no problem. Angie the employee said we would get a refund. Almost a week later I called to check in on the refund status and Angie said she will check with her boss, on that same call I asked if we could just get a credit instead, she said she would speak with her boss - I said okay! A day later I even went back to purchase a Doce de leche latte and asked about the status of the refund again, this time Said was the employee, he said he would check with his boss. I left with no answer once again. A week later my husband, son and I went to enjoy breakfast. This time I did not ask for a refund status, but noticed Angie was avoiding me and could not look me in the face even when she brought our food to the table. We ate our food and left. A day later I got a call from Cuppi (can’t remember her name) she said they initiated the refund through DoorDash and I thanked her. Fast forward almost a month next week and we have not received our refund or a call to check in if we have gotten our refund or even suggest we can receive a credit. I am so disappointed in the owners and management of Cuppi because it is a nice place I once enjoyed going to with my family and friends! But I will not be going anymore because of the lack of customer service, care and interest in following up to resolve a simple matter as to refund a transaction of food that...
Read moreWhen it comes to having to describe a coffee shop...you have a certain idea that comes to mind, a place that is inviting, calm, and has great coffee. This place has all three and amazing food! I don't want to let more people know about the hidden gem that is this place, but I want to also keep seeing Cuppi Coffee being a thing; so, I am putting you on game, the coffee is light and evenly balanced every time I have come in. The staff is always so welcoming and happy to see people walk in which is a great feat when you are dealing with the un-caffeinated who are after the first cup of the day. There is ample space for you to sit and work on a project for the day, meet with friends, or just get lost in your creativity. I come back and forth to the area a lot from out of state, and I can say that this little place has become a staple in my day when I want a quick cup, or to just relax a bit before my next venture. I am still a novice when it comes to experiencing their full menu since I am typically a drip coffee person myself with the occasional one or two added shots for that extra pick-me-up. I ordered food for the first time here this morning and I am sorry I do not have a photo of it, I inhaled the sandwich within seconds. I got a simple and safe sausage, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich on a plain bagel and it came with chips which at first glance I thought was a little odd, but it was a compliment to the dish that was not asked for but was needed for the full flavor experience. The presentation was beautifully done when it was brought out on a tray, it was simple yet appealing to the eye. The music is also a great touch, smooth jazz is my way to enjoy good coffee. If you are near Dumfries VA, make this place a nice side stop, I guarantee you will...
