The reason I rated a three-star on March 3rd 2018 my sons and I visit the IHOP in Dumfries Virginia off of 234. The experience of the prompt and fast service of our waiter this is the reason why I'm rated it three star when it's actually deserve a one-star. Fact that Daniel was courteous and promptly in getting our order in a timely manner to be served within 20 minutes. The server who brought the food to our table served me cold food our waiter walk past a few seconds later after we was served and asked how everything was going I let him know that my food was cold and he took it back brought it back to me the eggs was rubbery from being placed in the microwave and then the meat and french toast and pancakes were placed back on the plates which came back cold and rubberized hot eggs I asked our waiter to bring his manager to my table because it was unacceptable. Manager came to the table I explain to him what had happened in the course of my food being served to me cold and then reheated which caused the eggs to be rubbery yet the French toast pancakes and the bacon and sausage was still cold and my son's food was served at the right temperature as you can see in the picture it looks like it's really good and advertising NOT it was cold the manager took my food back had it redone everything came back fine the only thing that he did not offer any type of compensation for the inconvenience of me sitting there watching my son's eat and enjoyg their meal and then in turn they had to sit and wait for me to eat my meal which made me feel rushed the manager never came back to the table and asked if anything was okay he never gave any thought to it after he felt that he took care of the problem what they don't understand is when someone is paying for services they expect for their food to be served at the right temperature and if they have to send the food back more than once then they should be able to compensate you for that inconvenience he did not do that at all he didn't even bother to say thank you for visiting IHOP and apologize for the inconvenience. I would not recommend anyone to go to the Dumfries Virginia IHOP off of 234 especially on the weekend they're too busy and understaffed Daniel our waiter had over 7 tables that he was waiting on. All I can say is I would never go back to that particular IHOP I will drive past that one or come back home and go to the one off of route 17 I went there on a weekend and they was just as busy as the in Dumfries Virginia off of 234 and everything was served promptly and at the right temperature as food supposed to be and it was 6 of us at our table on that particular Saturday a week prior. My boyfriend was waiting for my son and I to arrive to the Ihop to pick him up after work. I told him to grab a bite to eat while he waits. He called me and told me he was still waiting for his food as an hour had passed since placing it. I told him to speak to a manager, but he said it was okay since he was waiting for me anyhow. My son decided he wanted to eat here when we arrived, but when we found my boyfriend and sat down. The waiter wasn't coming over to take our orders. Finally when he did he came off like he was in a bad mood. He didn't greet us nor smile. He took our orders and walked away in a rude way that it made me feel like I didn't want to eat there anymore and knowing my boyfriend had waited forever I felt like we would get the same treatment, but my son kept insisting on staying. After the waiter walked away I felt like leaving. So, when another waiter came by with our drinks I decided to let her know I did not want anything and I was going to leave. I wanted everyone that was working know the reason why I left and it had nothing to do with my child acting up. He was upset, because he wanted to stay and did not understand my reasoning until we got into the car and I explained how the customer service wasn't a happy one and we would go to the one near our home.

Read moreI’m not sure what was going on tonight or in general. But service was terrible. Our waitress constantly got our order wrong, missed things included in our order and even once asked about what was missing, insisted we do it ourselves if she brought it to the table. When i asked To speak to the manager, she questioned me several times about why and what was wrong instead of actually getting the manager. I finally got the manager over to our table and explained the evening to him. He was nice for the most part and asked me if i wanted Him to comp my children’s meals. I settled With that and was given the receipt by our server. The kids meals were still on the receipt so i opted into going up front to get it addressed because at that point i was Just ready to go. We got to the front to wait for our new check And the manager assured that he was going to fix our check but just needed a moment. I told him it was fine and waited however one of the serves who had an issue with me having an issue with the service mumbled under her breath that everyone just needed to be patient. Unprofessional and out of line. Especially when no one was rushing . I simply Told her that no one was rushing but if service was poor i wasn’t paying for a complete meal. Ridiculous that she even felt comfortable to speak under her breath in front of customers.
