I don't intend this review to be mean or spiteful, and I am not a mathematician, but I would estimate that the odds of a competent group of adults investing time, money and genuine hard work into a restaurant and yielding food of such poor quality are astronomically rare, nigh impossible. For this reason I reasonably assume that someone within the company is a fully committed troll that is intentionally selling counterfeit goods, or sabotaging the operation at minimum.
Readers, I do truly wish the food was tasty and spicy so that I could revisit this business frequently. However, a sense of civic duty urges me to spread awareness that an extremely poor product is being marketed and sold at average-to-above average prices compared to similar establishments.
Some high level notes:
Bread on the sandwich was stale around the crust
“Hot” level spice was bland enough for my newborn child to sample expressionlessly
Macaroni and cheese was similar to plain yogurt with black pepper on it, microwaved for 8 seconds
French fries were like a shoelace that got untied in a puddle and went unnoticed for a few steps
Chicken appeared to be acceptable quality meat from a sourcing perspective
It appears to me that all passion for high quality cookery was thrown out the window in favor of riding the food meta bandwagon and possibly short term profitability, and I’m left lost and confused as to what went wrong. I am hopeful that this business corrects these indefensible and fundamental shortcomings, and can offer a competitive product that will make me update this review.
Crimson Coward, I speak for the silent army of spice lords when I ask you to please omit any response to this review and instead put your full attention to improving the food. We are the silent watchers and spice justice...
Read moreI had a wonderful experience with my first visit here. I got the Crimson sandwich along with fries and a drink. The sandwich was delicious, I wasn't even able to eat the entire thing as the chicken breast was that big. I got it with medium spice and it definitely had a kick to it, just about the right amount. The french fries were delicious as well, they have a seasoning on them that is very good. With their delicious homemade ranch to dip them in, they were excellent. Before I went, I signed up for their loyalty program online and it gets you three gigantic chicken tenders spiced however you want and bread and a pickle. They were juicy, cooked wonderfully and very delicious. That alone is a $10 value so that was a great deal. I had been reading about how crowded they had been since their opening and how the waiting time could get to be an hour or more during peak times. I went at about 3:00 p.m., right between lunch and dinner rushes and I walked right up to the counter, ordered my food and was out of the restaurant with my food in 10 minutes. Overall, a great first visit and I will certainly be returning quite often. The food is delicious, fresh and served in good sized portions, I can see why it's been so crowded since...
Read moreCrimson Coward has been my go-to spot for years since they opened here, and they’ve never once let me down. I drive 30 minutes past other locations just to come to THIS one because the service, cleanliness, and quality are unmatched. The staff always provide exceptional customer service and the consistency here is second to none. Especially Abbas, Adrian, Alexia and Janeth - they are the best employees and the Latina women here have excellent customer service. They are the reason I had to leave this review for the exceptional customer service and kindness they have displayed, they’re constantly busy and never not doing something.
Their fried chicken is hands-down the best I’ve ever had, and the Crimson Chicken Sandwich, tenders, loaded mac, and Joey Eat Fries are all must-haves. My wife is hooked on the Garlic Twister too!
I’ve tried other Crimson Coward locations, but none of them compare to the excellence and care this one delivers. If you want the best chicken experience possible, this is the...
