El Patron Cantina Iron Bridge — Restaurant in Virginia

I AM DONE! My wife got takeout tonight. She ordered a beef taco salad for me. The pinto beans and beef in one tray. The shell and other toppings in another tray. She was told they didn't have pinto beans so they substituted black beans. That is fine. I like black beans as a side not in my taco salad. My wife ordered the ground beef nacho appetizer requesting NO guacamole and sour cream. She requested her chips on the side. She also ordered us an 8 oz extra salsa. My taco salad shell was soggy on the bottom. I did not get beef but chorizo. I didn't want pork.If it was chicken or steak I would have accepted it. My wife's nachos were soggy. It had BOTH sour cream and guacamole. She also showed me it had beef, chicken and pinto beans( was told they didn't have any left). After she tried to salvage her dinner by scrapping off the sour cream, guacamole and soggy chips it no longer looked editable. The chips that they offer complimentary were either overcooked or stale. She spent close to $30.00 and over half went straight to the trashcan. I can only think of three scenarios on why our order was wrong.1. We got someone else's order. 2. Language barrier and miscommunication between the order taker and the cook. 3. They simply didn't care. This is not the first time our order was wrong. Sadly we will find another Mexican restaurant and hope they will LISTEN. My wife had a bad day and this was suppose to comfort her. A treat after an extremely long week. These days take-out is a roll of the dice. The experience should not be different because we had take-out. My wife told me she asked the server if it was correct going back over the order. I typically frequent this restaurant for lunch and ordered the Tierra y Mar, which I’ve found to be always delicious. Based on these good experiences, my husband and I and another couple decided to visit for dinner last Sunday evening. We went early to avoid the crowd and arrived about 4:45 (The restaurant was not busy at this point). We requested a booth which was graciously provided in the front section near the bar It was difficult to flag down the wait staff to bring us water and about 30 minutes for the waiter to even take our order. The specialty drinks we ordered arrived very quickly and were delicious. We placed our orders; the 3 of the plates arrived in a timely fashion, with no indication that a fourth was on its way. One of the three plates contained shrimp instead of steak. However, we did not complain about that one. Again, it took a while and 3 attempts to flag down a waiter or waitress to check on our order. The first one said they would check, the second said it would be 2 to 3 minutes, it was another 20 minutes before we could find another waiter. Finally, the fourth plate was brought out, was not what we expected and didn’t even come with the rice and creamer promised. At this point we requested that it be comped and were assured twice that it would be. When the check arrived, the charge was not removed until we insisted. I used to be a fan of this location however the last two times we have gone there with big parties have been a nightmare. I called Tuesday evening to secure a reservation for 10 people on Wednesday for a birthday party. They took my information and let me know everything was all set. We show up at 6pm Wednesday they have no knowledge of us coming. We then end up with the same waitress as the last time (Mary) who cannot tend to large parties. We waited 10 mins for her to come and take our drink order, then once everyone arrived we placed our orders. From there we waited 20 mins as expected for food, however all of our party except for a 3 year old, whom we ordered chicken nuggets for and another members food came. Our waitress never returned to the table after taking our order until I went to track her down only to find her playing on her phone in the back and asking for the remainder of the food. She then comes back and states that the “runner confirmed everything had been brought out”, as a 3 year old sat there with no food. 5 mins later we receive the chicken nuggets and fries, burnt, and we cancel the other adult meal not received. I asked to speak with a manager to which never came, and our waitress also avoided our table the rest of the night.
