Good food, unprofessional staff and environment. I went here with my family for a Father's Day breakfast the Saturday before Father's Day, so I understand that it would be busy - and the wait certainly reflected that: we waited more than 30 minutes for a table. When we asked the manager about sitting outside, she told us that there were no tables able to accommodate 5 diners, yet when we were seated inside, they pushed together two tables (4 diners + 2 diners) - the same was possible outside.
The manager and staff at the desk did not greet me when I arrived: There was no smile, no "welcome," no greeting - they just stared. The manager in particular never once smiled and just looked constantly stressed, like she didn't want to be there. In fact, NOBODY who worked there looked like they wanted to be there - the only people who even smiled were our waitress and the cashier when we paid.
We received 2 wrong orders. My brother-in-law was given a similar order, but without the side he ordered. As he was cutting into his meal, a member of the wait staff showed up and took the plate from him without explanation - we had to ask for her to tell us that he got the wrong order. When they gave him the "right order," it was wrong: greens instead of potatoes. They brought a separate plate of potatoes later. I myself ordered the Market (vegetable) hash and my father ordered the Farmstand (meat) hash - but the waitress took the wrong order and we ended up with two Farmstand hashes. They were good, but it was not what I ordered.
One of the members of the wait staff (the one who brought my brother-in-law's incorrect meal the first time) later stopped me mid conversation to hit on me, asking me about my personal life, asking me whether or not I traveled to Los Angeles recently and if I work out at LA Fitness. It was weird. It was uncomfortable. And it was incredibly unprofessional.
When we left, we discovered that the waitress had put our drinks on some of the other seats, so in splitting the check, the cashier had to ask a senior member of staff to help her. That senior member looked INCREDIBLY stressed and her facial expression of annoyance when the cashier described to her splitting the check was very evident (right in front of my mother and I). Unprofessional.
The staff all look miserable. They look either overworked and/or underappreciated - or they all hate their jobs. The manager in particular looked miserable, and having a member of the wait staff hit on me was disturbing.
The food was good, so I'm willing to give this location a second chance since my parents really like it. But if the service and atmosphere are even remotely close to the experience I had, I will never return to this location or any First Watch...

Read moreI went to "First watch on May second with my family on friday May 2 2025. It was a wonderful memorable experience. We called ahead and made a reservation so we were seated quickly in a nice comfortable booth. The atmosphere was lively. The drinks are delicious. They have four signature fruit drinks and I tried all four. The purple drink was a little too sweet for me, but that green drink that had kale in it was nice and tart. The red drink was tart and tangy and had ginger in it for "bite" . And so that red drink is my favorite along with the kale drink. The yellow drink was the pineapple express. And it's okay, more sweet than tangy and tart.. For my meal I had the "trifecta" which is a large multi grain pancake scrambled eggs and your choice of bacon or sausage. I asked to have 2 pancakes instead of one and I asked to have bacon. The meal was delicious. The pancakes were light and fluffy as a pancake should be, so much so, that after I added warm butter and syrup to it the pancakes would occasionally leave crumbs after I cut into it. That's how you know its light and fluffy in a good way. It tasted soo good like a cake made on a pan, it has a distinctive homemade taste. The syrup is their house syrup but you can ask for maple syrup at extra cost, but it tastes good either way. The bacon i had was hardwood thick cut bacon and it was well cooked just right. The eggs were scrambled and they put garnish on it. It tasted delicious. This restaurant might seem pricey to some but I personally do not think so. I spent about 100 bucks on my family of 5 but I felt it was worth it: I got good food, great customer service, where the server and the manager came by periodically to check if we were enjoying the food. They were polite, friendly, and courteous. I dub this location, and the Woodbridge location, as the best breakfast spots to go to in the...
