Go'Dragon Asian Grill — Restaurant in Virginia

My family and I have eaten here many times. Up until a month or so ago, the food was consistent and the woman at the front was friendly, engaging and polite. The last 2 times I have eaten here, the food (in particular the bourbon chicken) was plastic-y and the fried rice was inedible. These issues have been compounded by the rude young male at the counter. My first encounter was when I ordered one of the entrees for which there was only a small portion left and when asked if they would be able to cook more, he responded with "I guess we can". That was his response to a paying customer, verbatim. I've been there a couple more times since, both times the bourbon chicken being low quality, and this guy was the counter person each time. No smiles, just attitude. Tonight, 8/1/19, my family and I went there to eat and this guy was working there again. I assume the young woman has moved to the other location which is a shame. When my daughter ordered her food, I told the guy that I wanted a California Roll because I know they take a little longer to make. His response? "No sushi today". I had to press to figure out what that meant and he told me that sushi is only available Friday through Sunday. This was news to me as I have ordered a roll every time I've gone, weekday or weekend. This makes me feel as though sushi is simply not available to me for whatever reason. My wife then ordered her dish and asked for steamed rice. The guy puts some in her tray and she asks for a small bit more. He scowls, openly scowls at my wife's request, and proceeds to literally HEAP rice into her tray. By the time my wife told him it was more than enough, he had filled the entire tray with rice, scooping and slamming it into the tray like a petulant child having a fit. When my wife said that it was too much, and it clearly was, he angrily scraped a large portion back into the rice cooker. I knew at that moment I would never, EVER step foot in this place again. We paid and left before I lost my temper and told the guy that he should never work with the public again. I leave this detail because I want everyone to know that while the food tends to be good, the counter help is so bad that you should avoid the restaurant. I also want this fellow to read this, or the owner, and KNOW who it was that left this poor review. You've lost 5 customers because of a piss-poor...

(Updated this only to add a picture of the gelatin-type globs found in the soup). I've been here more than once throughout the year and the first few orders were fine but I've noticed a difference in the food when different people are working/cooking here. The food here is never consistent. I've bought Hot and Sour soup at least 5 times from here and it's never the same. Too watery, not flavorful, etc. This week I bought some of the soup and there was undissolved gelatin/starch throughout the soup! I'm not talking a few pieces but a lot! It was not melted/blended properly into the soup. That was the final straw for me. The prices here have steadily gone up and now you charge $ 2.50 for ONE tiny spring roll? It's 3 inches. I've had the shrimp lo mein a few times but the last time it was horribly dry. I bought the wings once and they were good, the second time, they were dry and sauce was flavorless. So I stopped buying those, too. I gave this location a fair try and came back a few times thinking maybe someone was having an "off day" in the kitchen. But after the starch/gelatin chunks in the soup and ridiculous prices for less than average...

My home girl nikki does an excellent job serving her customers. She fulfill everyones needs always happy and giggly no matter what situation approach. She remains calm i witness it. It was one customer who broke out to be nasty and just because she didnt get what she wanted she threw a cup of tooth picks. However she did what she had to do in a appropriate manor to get her out the store. No abuse back. Well done. So yal come out and visit my new friend nikki. The food is always fresh and well seasoned. She'll cook whatever u need ro order. Food nice and hot. I love the curry chicken and the spicy chicken alot. They my favorite. Cant take the heat get out the kitchen they say. Lol. Oh and try the funnel cakes and the delicious smoothies. Oh and the shrimp egg roll be on point. My mouth watering just thinking about it.
