Jimmy John's — Restaurant in Virginia

Let me start by saying everyone working at JJ’s is quite kind from what I’ve observed. I’ve been ordering delivery from them 2-3 times a month since the pandemic started. Most of the time, I was very satisfied- however, as of the past 3 months or so, their roast beef has been far too thick compared to the past and it has a good amount of chewy fat. At first, I thought it must be a one time thing but unfortunately it’s happened for every roast beef sandwich that I’ve gotten for my last 4 visits have been less enjoyable than usual. Everything else is amazing though; bread, chips, etc. My only other complaint is I work in a medical office where masks are required so I normally try to catch the driver outside because most delivery drivers of all companies don’t normally wear masks, unfortunately there’s no real map tracker in the app so it’s hard to time it right. This is certainly NOT me complaining about any employees- I understand that most people nowadays don’t care about the spread of COVID or the permanent effects it can have on the body and they’re no longer required to wear masks by law but, if there’s a sign on the door that says masks are required, they should call the customer and meet them outside if possible instead of just coming in maskless. Once again, this is talking about ALL delivery drivers (Doordash, Dominos, Ubereats, etc) NOT just Jimmy Johns. Tonight around 8:40 we ordered three combo meals for dine in, and we thought we had plenty of time because we knew they closed at 9:00 pm. However at 8:55 while the manager was cleaning the tables around us the young girl behind the counter made a point to tell us that the dining room closed at 9:00 pm and we had 5 minutes to finish up because we weren’t allowed to be in the dining room after “closing” ~ I honestly could not believe what I was hearing!! We have been in restaurants where the doors have been locked at closing but we have never been told to leave a restaurant because they were closing!! I wrapped up my sub and asked if she was the manager which of course she was not and the manager said oh she was just letting you know it was almost closing but NO if that was the case she would have said something like “just to let you know we’re closing soon” and we would have said yes we know and we’re almost finished but NO she literally told us we weren’t allowed to be in the dining room after closing. But yet her boyfriend or brother was in the dining room hanging out waiting for her to get off of work. The entire confrontation was very unprofessional and very unnecessary because we knew they closed at 9:00 and we were almost finished. My husband and I have visited at least 5-7 different Jimmy John's locations across Virginia, and we LOOOOOVE the consistency of delicious subs!!! His favorite is the Gargantuan, and my favorite is the regular turkey sub or beach club turkey. On this visit to 1 of the 2 Charlottesville locations, we ordered an 8-inch gargantuan and an 8-inch turkey beach club. As always, BOTH subs were SUPER SCRUMPTIOUS!!! I really don't know what it is, but I continuously crave Jimmy John's!!! I'm sooooo disappointed that they don't have a location closer to our home in Louisa, VA!!! On the other hand, we'd be in rather big trouble if there WAS a Jimmy John's in Louisa, because we'd be eating subs from there EVERY DAY. 🥰😂❤️💓 In our opinion, they're just sooooo delicious, and we love the customization options that they offer!!!
