Update 2/26/2023: I'm sorry to say that I will no longer be eating at this location. The food that we ordered was, yet again, WAY too salty! This problem has been expensive for us hoping that the food would be properly seasoned after all the complaints. The other locations were never this way. The only thing that was reasonably seasoned were the chips and they were better than usual last night. I hate this because we love the guy who manages this place. He was our server at the Bennett's Creek location! Very professional and friendly! It was good for a long stretch, but who wants to spend money on all that salty food? Not I!
Original Review: Something is a bit off at this location. We've been eating at the La Parilla restaurants for years and have always loved them. So glad there is one in Carrollton. It's closer to us. However!!! Something is off each time we do carry out. Usually it's that the beans are almost cool in temperature every single time. We've had take-out quite a few times now. First couple of times our soft tacos were great, I mean delicious! Our last order, each of the tacos, same filling, tasted different. One had a distinct flavor of squeezed lemon in it. That really disturbed me and all I could think about while I was eating (still thinking about it) was why? What is going on here? Used to be just the cold beans, and missing flour tortillas here and there, but now, every time we order, our soft tacos look like they have literally been slung into the container and cold beans. Like someone is not too happy about what they are doing. This happens every time, now. It also seems that there is a very heavy hand with the salt on a few items: The salsa (which is otherwise delish!), the guac, the beans (otherwise really good beans!), the taco meat. Almost everything I had this last order was too salty. So disappointing because the Bennet's Creek location and Hampton crank out fantastic food like rock stars! Love La Parilla so I hope that someone see's this and starts with more quality control in the kitchen. The staff is super friendly, but not sure that we're feeling the love from the chef or whoever it is that puts the food together there. We'll wait and go back again with high...
Read moreSo we moved to Suffolk a year ago from Hampton (foxhill) & the La'Parilla in Hampton next to Bass Pro Shop is absolutely AMAZING. My fiancé & I went for date night twice a month. We moved here & we have yet to try the one in Smithfield. Yesterday was my Fiancé birthday & I wanted to surprise him with a dinner with his family at the one in Smithfield & I must say it wasn't that good, Hampton blows this one away. The rice was hard, maybe like it sat too long. We had four people & our food came out and it took them an extra 30 minutes to bring out my fiancé food after ours and then they proceeded to tell us they forgot about his order when his order was taken at the same time as the rest. Let alone, IT WAS HIS BIRTHDAY. It took about an hour for the food to even come out & his grandma's house salad was ALL peppers and carrots, no salad. The only dressing they have is Ranch. She is 90 something years old, so yes, she got a salad. Well after we were done with dinner, we were waiting on our check, another hour passed. Nothing. So I ask if we are supposed to pay at the front of what? They ended up bringing us our check & we were over charged. It wasn't fixed so safe to say we will NOT be back at this one. Hampton one is the best so far. The taste of my food was kind of bland, but my Fiancés was great with the taste! The customer service was okay, they weren't rude, very polite. They just need to get it together and maybe I will try it...
Read moreIâve eaten the fajitas here in the restaurant and they were fantastic.
But I ordered 3 crispy chicken tacos with rice and beans for takeout and it is disgusting. All of the lettuce and cheese is literally just dumped on top of the tacos. None of it is inside the actual tacos - I had to dig the tacos out of a mound of cheese and lettuce. The tacos were half full of extremely soggy onions and chicken and the shells were mush. You literally canât pick them up they just fall apart into a gross paste. And they were ICE cold. There are 3 tacos in the pictures and this is how I received my order. Rice and beans are in a separate tray.
I took 2 bites of what was left of the first âtacoâ and threw the rest away. I was at the store to pick up the order 9 minutes after the order was placed. Rice and beans were room temperature and were at least edible but it was bad enough I wonât even be back to...
