McDonald's — Restaurant in Virginia

I really never take the time to write reviews unless something stands out to me. This McDonald’s was so utterly horrible that this is one of those times.

I also have a lot of sympathy with workers as I used to work in fast food myself, but this was just unacceptable.

Upon walking in, there was trash on the floor. After a further scan of the room, every single table in sight were either covered in crumbs and wrappers or were just plain messy. I’m talking about an empty lobby when nobody was even eating. There were two leaky hand sanitizer machines spilling soap everywhere. Random employee rags laying around in places they shouldn’t. Garbage and half eaten food on the floor. Cups and other condiments scattered about near the restroom.

Then to top it all off, they seemed to be struggling severely. One gentleman near us had an online order which he waited for and the employees told him they were out of this, out of that, and that the order was still in progress. After lots of back and forth an elderly manager told woman came up to the front. You’d think she’d sort everything out, but instead she made a few comments under her breath, took one look at us, and left.

And if that wasn’t bad enough, about 15 minutes later the employee came up and was like “oh yeah it’s been ready right here the entire time”. And handed the bag out like that was your everyday occurrence. If you don’t notice a ready to go order sitting right in front of you for that amount of time then you don’t deserve the job. It wasn’t busy inside either, so it’s not like they were overwhelmed with orders.

Regardless, I could name a dozen health code violations with this place. After you see what I saw, you’ll never want to set food near this place ever again let alone consume their food. Absolutely terrible service from the manager. She was a brunette lady with her hair back and she worked the midnight shift today and she was extremely rude. We had ordered a very easy meal, two 20 piece nuggest and 2 large fries. Not only was our nuggets cold, but we didn't even get either of the fries. When we had came back not even 7-10 minutes later to request for our fries as well as warmer nuggets, she proceeded to want to give us attitude and tried claiming we had come back 30 minutes later. We don't live 30 minutes away from the McDonalds, we live 5 minutes away. I would also like to suggest you make them give customers their receipts, I am not stupid I know why that woman isn't giving receipts to customers and she made it VERY apparent tonight. Please also tell them to have their phone plugged in/actually answer the phone. We are refunding our order through our bank, we refuse to interact with that woman any further. She was rude, unwelcoming, and all around unpleasant. If this is to happen again for another time with the same woman, we will not be nice. I placed a mobile order here today. Received my food, pulled over to eat… and opened my nuggets. (Photo attached). I don’t know WHAT it was, but it looked nasty. When I pulled up to get a refund (I’m now not willing to eat anything in my bag), the manager told me accusatorially that they don’t have anything that looks like that in the restaurant. I told her I didn’t know what to tell her, that that’s what I found, and they told me to pull up. They refunded me like $5 for a $20+ order and gave me a quick sorry—they wouldn’t give me the full refund for my meal. I come here a lot since I have a job on the go. I’ve never once made a complaint or requested a refund. But that was absolutely absurd. (They did offer me free food, but I didn’t want to eat ANYTHING from there after finding that)

Not sure what’s going on in there, but you’d think somebody would notice that much nastiness on my food before they closed the box. The fact that they didn’t, and weren’t willing to make it right, tells me I shouldn’t eat here anymore. And I don’t suggest anyone else...
