This is a great Indian restaurant in Gainesville. It's a small restaurant in a shopping center with plenty of indoor seating. The decor is similar to other Indian restaurants but has a standard shipping center ambiance. We arrived with 6 people including a 2 year old, they were able to easily seat us.
Where it shines is the service and food. The dish portions are good and extremely tasty. We ordered 2 appetizers which everyone liked. The Aloo Tikki was flavorful as was the Dahi Bhalla. The food and drinks were delivered quickly and the food seemed fresh. We ordered the bread basket of naan which was crispy, fresh, and well seasoned.
We ordered Butter Chicken (entree and children's portion), Chicken Biryani, Salmon Tikka, and Chicken Rogan Josh. As I mentioned, the dishes were printed well and we ate family style and had leftovers. Everyone liked all of the dishes, the chicken was the star - perfectly seasoned, and perfectly cooked. I thought the salmon was slightly overcooked but my daughter, who ordered it, thought it was perfect.
I ordered a mango lassie but was only able to drink a quarter of it because my other daughter stole it from me. It was a very well made Lassie, sweet and cool, very refreshing.
I would highly recommend this restaurant to others. We went...

The menu is extensive, offering a variety of traditional Indian dishes, including flavorful curries, aromatic biryanis, and sizzling tandoori specials. The Chicken Tikka Masala was perfectly balanced, with tender chicken pieces in a creamy, spiced tomato sauce, while the Lamb Rogan Josh was rich and satisfying. For vegetarians, the Paneer Butter Masala and Chana Masala are absolute standouts, bursting with fresh spices and vibrant flavors.
The naan is freshly baked, with the Garlic Naan being a favorite—soft, buttery, and just the right amount of crisp. Pair it with their Dal Makhani for a comforting, soul-warming combination. Their Mango Lassi is a refreshing treat, the perfect palate cleanser between bites.
Service was efficient and friendly, with staff eager to explain dishes and accommodate preferences. Portions were generous, and the presentation was thoughtful.

Read morePakwaan Indian Cuisine truly impressed us with its Chicken Thali and Veg Thali during our visit! I went there with five friends, and we all enjoyed the experience immensely.
The Chicken Thali was a complete feast, offering tender chicken curry, perfectly spiced and flavorful, along with dal, rice, naan, and a side of tangy yogurt raita. The variety of dishes on the plate allowed us to sample different textures and flavors, making it a satisfying meal. The chicken was cooked to perfection, and the spices were balanced, not overpowering.
The Veg Thali was equally delightful, featuring a selection of hearty vegetarian dishes like paneer curry, mixed vegetables, dal, and a sweet dessert to finish. The fresh naan and fragrant rice tied everything together beautifully. Every bite felt like comfort food, and the portions were generous enough to leave us happily full.
The thalis are an excellent option for anyone who wants to experience a variety of flavors in one meal. The restaurant’s ambiance and friendly service made our outing even more enjoyable. It was the perfect spot for a get-together with friends, and we left with big smiles and satisfied appetites.
