My experience in your restaurant in Alexandria, VA was horrible. I wish there was a better way to put it. I was extremely excited to go to dinner because this was supposed to be the second dinner in 2 years that my husband and I had alone since having our child. The restaurant wasn't that packed and it was well staffed but, the service recieved by the server Brandon was bad. We walked in, were immidately sat at a table. After 10 minutes of no one coming to our table, I tapped a server( Brandon) on the shoulder to ask him to get our server. Brandon then tells me that he is our server and apologized. Brandon then proceeded to take our order. He never once brought out bread to the table even though everyone around us had recieved some bread. When Brandon took our order, I not only said the name of the meal ( sirloin and alice chicken) but I showed Brandon the picture of the meal. Brandon even repeated our order back to us word by word. My husband and I reiceved our food pretty quickly after the order was place but, we never really saw Brandon outside of him trying to figure out where our beers were at. Brandon never came back to check to see if we needed anything, refill our water, ask if we wanted more beer, Bring bread or even ask if we wanted a dessert( which we did - but couldn't order) Midway through the meal, we recieved the sirloin but, there was no Alice Chicken with the Sirloin. After waiting 15 minutes, with Brandon no where to be found. I finally asked another server walking by to please get Brandon. When Brandon came back to the table he tells me that he never put in the meal as ordered. He tells us that he put in a different meal but, would be fixing the issue and will get us the Alice Chicken. Brandon then came back to the table one more time, told my husband that the Alice chicken would be right out. My husband then asked Brandon to put the Alice chicken in a to go box and to bring another box so we could box up our salad. After 20 minutes, the alice chicken never arrived, and we watched as Brandon brought one table bread and was working on closing out another table. Since Brandon never came back, I was forced to once again tap another server on the shoulder (JT) who was fantastic! JT was able to get us the Alice Chicken within a few minutes, even brought us a to go box for the salad. My issue is that our original server Brandon never even put the meal in correctly, promised to fix the order and , then Lied to us about fixing the order and then never came back to the table which forced another server (JT) to be forced to slove Brandon's issue. That is not teamwork nor is it in anyway good service. Thank...
Read moreOur first time at this particular Outback. My mash potatoes were cold and the French onion soup was a disaster. It was burn up so bad there was no white top part because it was burnt almost dissolved in the soup with just a tiny piece of bread almost melt in it, and the edge of the bowl had a dark brown almost black burnt crumb from the bread and or soup stuck on it. I was charged for the soup which was included in the 3 core according to the waitress and even after I told him this soup was unacceptable. He didn’t offered to make it back and frankly once I have to send another thing back it become embarrassing and uncomfortable and I that point things are bad and could get worse which it did. For whatever reason the second bread he brought was also burnt I mean with black showing on one side. Not sure what was going on with the burning food. When the bill came, it had a charged for the soup which was a surprise because the waitress specifically told us it was included in the 3 core Aussie meal, plus it was terrible /burnt up! I was also charged extra for the loaded part of the cold mash potatoes (tiny little pieces of cheese and maybe 5 bacon bits on it). I also did not like the fact of the waitress touching my fork to scrape off the mash potatoes and put it on one of the little plate that’s was on our table and took it back to the kitchen. He should have just bring a new hot mash potato in another plate. Not just throw some more mash potatoes over it and then re-dress it, and bring it back bigger, this was nasty and wrongful way to handle this. I had to ask for napkins which is lack of training because the fact of getting ribs. Then, he went in the back to enter my phone number in the dinning program and came back saying he enrolled me. Instead of first coming back and letting me know he did not find my account and allowing me the option to enroll if that’s what I wanted. At this point I told him and showed him that I have an account and I wished he just didn’t re- enrolled me without telling me, which is why I am having problems and errors to access my account without investing days or weeks of my busy time to have the dinning rewards fix it. I work hard for my money and can afford to get why I want in this case a good meal and service not a nightmare! This is totally unacceptable and it needs to be rectified. Please see...
Read moreMy husband took me here to celebrate Veteran's Day. They appeared fairly busy at 2 p.m. when we arrived as the hostess said the only table she had was a "half booth" in the bar area. We were fine with that. It took several minutes for our waitress to arrive and we ordered the requisite Bloomin Onion as well as the Steak Cheese Dip. The chef was so clever to think of us and ensure we didn't burn our mouths from the Bloomin Onion as we normally do since it was brought to the table half an hour after we ordered and it was quite cool, so no worries there. The Steak Cheese Dip was delicious and I highly recommend it, just make sure it's served warm otherwise the grease floats to the top. We had to ask the waitress for silverware and napkins shortly after receiving our apps. I'm pretty sure she was in the back forging forks in a fire because by the time she brought the salads out we still had nothing to eat them with. Eventually, though, she came through. I did notice that although she took our orders and passed by us several times, it was always another staff member that brought out our food items. I hope they got a piece of her tip. She stopped by the table several times to see if everything was OK, but she never picked up our discarded plates from the apps, at least not until I asked her to. Our steaks were cooked to order and the loaded baked potatoes seemed fine. All in all we enjoyed the tepid food we received. During our meal, we watched 2 couples that were seated in the bar area get up and leave. One told her companion as she passed by our table that they didn't have all day to be waited on. I sure hope none of them were Vets on this Veterans Day. My husband asked for the check well before we were done with our meals in hopes that it would arrive at the time we expected to leave and he was right on target with that one. We have eaten at this restaurant several times before and it's always been an enjoyable experience. I am not quite sure what...
