We almost left this location.
My husband took me out on a date. It was a Saturday night and our first time ever being STH. There was only a 20 min wait, which ended up being only 15 mins. We were sat at a table were we watched the wait staff wipe crumbs from the table to chairs and booth.
We wait....and....wait....and....wait...nearly 20 minutes pass! My husband and I are trying to figure what the issue is.
My husband talks to front of the house manager Noah. We had waitresses taking care of tables next and behind us. No one said A WORD to us. Also, my husband was also a manager for Darden Restaurants for many years he understands the business. I tell you we were not impressed. Service is everything!!! And the server who missed us, missed a 30% tip.
Noah proceeds to our table apologizes and takes our drinks and order. Since we had plenty of time to look the menu over. He said he was going to be our server for the evening and I am glad he was. He brought good conversations and really great meals, he did everything within this time woth us to make it right. And he most certainly came through!
Our food came our hot and delicious. We started with an appetizer of Canyon crab flat bread. That was tasty. I order the Roman parmesean crusted chicken with the mozzarella, sundried tomatoes, and basil topping over mash with and sweet potatoe fries. My husband had the the Crab Stuffed Shrimp and the French Quarter. I tried some of my husband's crab stuff shrimp with the Spinach and oh my goodness...it put my food to shame. Noah comes back and ask how everything taste? I told it the food was good, but my husband's food was better. He so kindly brought me our a few crab stuffed shrimps. They were so yummy! We were stuffed!!! Before we wrap up our meal Noah asked if we want dessert? My husband and I looked at each other like were really really full. Noah tells us about their carrot cake, He told us a really nice story about how his grandmother used to make carrot cake from scratch and he said this carrot cake is the closest to his grandmother's carrot cake. That it's one of the best carrot cakes you'll ever have. He wasn't lying about that. My husband and I were struggling to share the carrot cake, it sooooo good!!! And it even had raisins in it and I couldn't tell. Me personally, I don't believe raisins should be in carrot cake, but this cake was phenomenal!!!! And he also informed us that it's sourced from a bakery in Farmville and they make everything from scratch and you can taste the love in that cake.
All in all we enjoyed our experience! We like to thank Noah for making our experience with this restaurant a great first time experience!!! And what he reflects who he's as a person. He is kind and thoughtful!
We will be returning to this...
Read moreSedona has held a special place to me and my bf as it was where we went on our first date. So we tend to frequent back often. Since our first date, everything has gotten worse with each visit. Last night was the absolute worst experience that we've ever had at any restaurant. Straight out the gate, we got a text saying our table was ready so we walked in to be seated (maybe a minute or 2 after receiving the text) and found out they had given our table to someone else. The hostess looked horrified when she realized we were the ones paged. But she quickly corrected it and found us a table. We ordered 2 Ahi tunas for appetizers. Sedona has the best Ahi imo. We only received one and had to ask where the second one was. The server never put it in. The second one finally came out at the same time our food did. It took a while to even get 2 beers. Which were great. Our entrees came out and my bf's filet minion didn't even look like one. It was beyond raw and very blue. The outside was barely seared. The texture was extremely off it was more mushy than tender. The asparagus didnt look grilled as described. It was mushy like it had been cooked in a microwave. My NY strip was overcooked and lined with extremely hard gristle. I also ordered broccoli and mashed potatoes. I received overcooked broccoli and mixed greens. I asked the girl about it and she said it was mixed greens with vinegarette. I told her mixed greens wasn't even listed as a side option on the menu. She said no it's not. I gave it a chance and it was just mixed greens with no vinegarette. So they managed to mess up the mess up. After getting our food, we had a server walk past the table who turned and coughed towards our table without covering her mouth and didn't even apologize, just looked at us. Searched a while for our server and when we finally found him flagged him down to order 2 more beers. Took about 20 mins to get the beers and we only got one. Took another 10 mins to get our second beer. We also ordered 2 shots of silver tequila. That took about 20 mins to get and they brought gold well tequila. We spent the entire night having our booth backed up to "that table" that was extremely loud and kept bumping the back of our seats so hard I was bouncing forward. Not Sedonas fault for disrespectful patrons but still added to the frustration of the night. The best part of the whole evening was the mashed potatoes. I used to brag about this place and was always suggested first when we were picking somewhere to go out to eat. But at this point, I receive better service from mcdonalds and highly doubt we will...

Disappointing dining room management.
Flies everywhere in the kitchen and dining area.
This was our first time giving this place a try, and we left very disappointed. We had a server named Chiquita with extremely long nails that are inappropriate for food service. Real or fake nails that long are extremely dangerous and unhygienic. I feel like the manager and her were both overly polite to a point of unpleasantness and insincerity. At some points, she appeared dazed and forgetful, like when she introduced herself twice to us at two different points in the service. She also had to rush a chopped salad that she forgot to enter and made zero apologies to the table. Salads were supposed to come first, and we had them at the same time as mains. The chopped salad came after mains. We sat through service with dirty dishes. Finally, another server grabbed them for us. The dining room was not that busy by the way. When we refused to get dessert (from hygiene concerns), we asked her for the check. She proceeded to help two other tables close out and then greet a new table, serve drinks and take their order, again seemingly forgetting that we had asked for the check. The manager finally broke away from being the best friend jokester with the serving staff and did rounds on the floor. That was the only way we could get to-go boxes. The waitress finally returned to ask us if we needed a bag well after we boxed and baged our food right in front of her. It was very confusing and awkward.
We also paid entirely too much for the lack of fly mitigation. I understand the door was open, but I counted seven flies inside the kitchen window and four on the outside. Multiple dining guests were swatting at flies during service.
Music was blasting, and servers (maybe bussers) were hanging out with each other, having extremely loud conversations on the dining room floor.
The kitchen's attention to detail, the choices on the menu, and the quality of ingredients were the restaurant's saving grace. The timing was off, but again, I think that was our server. Saved the canned response and just get it together. I'm not the only review that mentioned the nails. It's costing your business, risking the health of your customers, and harming your...
