Went in with my husband. Very disappointed. Small changes in decor from Metro. No other real breakfast meat options other than pork. We ordered the breakfast sampler and the steak and eggs. Everything was either burnt or undercooked. Nothing was seasoned. For the highlights, the eggs were good for liquid eggs and the french toast was ok. The service from Chamille, I think her name was, was excellent. My husband and I both agreed it just may be the service that will save the place. My husband was immediately upset at the steak he received. It was undercooked as he asked for well done. I had noticed the steak had already gone bad due to its color and it was unthawed incorrectly. Steak shouldn't be white. Me working with and in the food business for 25 years I can honestly point out and taste what was wrong with everything. Canned corned beef hash. The pancake batter wasn't evenly mixed as there were huge dough chunks and overly thick. My hash browns were undercooked AND burnt as so with my husbands home fries. I know that was due to the cook leaving the potatoes on the flat top for an extended period of time, probably in the corner. And was proven correct as well left and seen in the kitchen with the cook on his phone, without gloves, and a pile of potatoes and veggies sat burning in the corner of the flat top! The only word my husband has for this place was "Disrespectful". And all I had to say was Metro Diners legacy was ended for an depressed...
Read more1:15pm on a Wednesday i Was next door getting a haircut and got to talking about food and the guy cutting my hair spoke highly of this place so I figured I would give it a try.
Upon walking in I noticed it wasn’t busy at all 2 other tables. The waitress walked over after a minute approached with no greeting or smile. All she said was “one”. Led me to a booth placed down the menu and walked away.
Returned a few minutes later asked “know what you want”. I ordered a bologna burger and fries and water. Waited about 6 minutes and the food came out. The sandwich was hot and fresh with good flavor. Just wish the bologna wasn’t so thin. The fries were hand cut but either the oil was old or not hot enough as they varied in color, crispness some were pale and soggy, some were golden brown but most were dark brown and hard almost burnt.
The restroom was fine but could use a floor to ceiling deep clean.
The waitresses didn’t seem to talk amongst themselves and at times seemed at odds with each other. None of the 3 I seen smiled at anyone they came into contact with including the 4 people who came in as I was seated. Over all it’s a diner that gives off the vibe of cold, unfriendly, unhappy waitstaff that goes through the motions and a kitchen staff that could use a little more training or give...
Read moreI feel awful writing this review because this place is somewhere I take my daughter for "US" time. However the last 2 times have been very different. Most recently yesterday - The hostess was AMAZING and very efficient with seating during a busy rush. Once we were seated, our waitress already had an attitude. Now while I can understand being short staffed can be frustrating, check that at the door!! The customers shouldn't have to feel that energy. We waited a really long time for our food. Not once did she stop by to say Hey sorry for the wait or do you all need anything.. nothing. Once our food came, we didn't see her anymore. Never checked on us. My home fries were noticeably burnt - why would they serve that knowingly? I had to get one of the other staff members for refills and to go get her because we were way past finished and again, haven't been checked on. Once she finally came to the table, i explained to her about the home fries and she asked if i wanted to get another plate.. No point now, the meal is already done. Had she checked on us from the beginning, then i surely would have taken a fresh batch of home fries. I gave her a generous tip anyway because i know workers live off that but the service completely...
