I love silver diners. It is an upgraded diner compared to IHOP and a little nicer than Bob Evans. They have this guarantee that their food will always come out fresh, correct, and on time, and that the restrooms will always be clean. They do a good job holding up that promise to a fairly good standard. One time I asked for toilet paper that were out in all the bathrooms stalls they did fill it right away and also gave me and my husband an apology card that would make our next visit free of charge. Another time though my steak was wayyyyy done from my order of medium rare, the served apologized and did absolutely nothing. I think it's the server that chooses whether or not they want to "bother" mentioning to the manager. The manager never came by and we just did not go back since due to the service ( it was an older male server around 70 years old....so we did not report it or anything). Food is excellent otherwise and pretty consistent from location to location. The prices are a little in the higher side for a diner but well worth it. Oh a little *TIP here they have the best milkshakes and *you can always ask to "split" the milkshake into 2 glasses, or it would come with one glass and are filling Tin next to it otherwise. Chocolate Oreo shake is my favorite. The healthy shakes tastes like skim milk with melted plastic so do avoid and just split a good shake with someone. Shrimp scampi is really good here and so are the crab cakes. Excellent T-bone steaks and all the Ruebens are amazing! I have eaten here hundred of times and they have children's night in Tuesdays where kids can get face painted and animal balloon for free. Also kids eat free if they sign up for the kids club. Hope this helps guys! I do highly recommend this place if you ever pass by one. ;) oh I would give them 5 stars but I gave them 4 because of the minor food & cleanliness inconsistency from location to location and the servers training/service received in the pass.

I visited on a Sunday afternoon to have some brunch on my way to other errands that day. Ample parking was available even with some spots permanently taken by outdoor tent seating. I ate inside at the counter and got warmly attentive service from Gonzalo. The counter was already clean but Gonzalo made sure with a second wipe down of my area which I appreciated. The team exudes a friendly vibe with customers and each other which I found reassuring and welcoming in general. Looking at the menu, I ordered a lumberjack breakfast with ham and chicken sausage for meats followed by a burger and fries and roasted vegetables. Food arrived at reasonable times for late on a Sunday afternoon after the brunch crowd had mostly left. For whatever reason I found most of the bread items on the dry side, namely the pancakes, potatoes, and biscuit. Eggs were cooked fine, and the meats were tasty enough. The burger was cooked as requested to medium rare, and another member of the team checked to see I liked the cook on my burger. The fries felt closer to lukewarm or room temperature and tasted okay. The roasted vegetables were not good, as the brussel sprouts and beets had an unwelcome rawness and crispiness I would not expect if they were roasted. The squash tasted fine, but I sent that dish back. Gonzalo offered to take the charge off my bill which I accepted. The total for my meal came to $37 excluding tax and tip. Given the inconsistency with food quality combined with the consistently warm and attentive service, I am somewhat ambivalent about returning for brunch. The people aspect of dining here needs to be kept the same, but the food preparation could use some positive change from where I sat.

As a person who has advocated for the consumption at numerous East Coast diners, I was in complete awe when I proceeded to encounter the glory that was the historic Silver Diner, a local chain of Diners with designs designated to look as if it was the epitome of a Factory Built Diner from 1939 to 1959 at the height of the presence of the Factory Built Diner, adorned primarily with elements of a 1950s diner from the Eisenhower Administration initially established in 1989 with roots pertaining back to the Blue Crab State of Leonard Calvert, Cecil Calvert and Thurgood Marshall in addition to Isaac Myers and Harriet Tubman. I proceeded to come into this respective establishment following my orientation at George Mason University on the 9th of July, 2024, and walked into the epitome of a cultural from the Getgo. The exterior had fixtures that would have risen to prominence around the 1950s, including a Model Seeburg Jukebox, vibrant colors, and checkerboard floor designs alongside an array of historical music videos and programs from the 1960s to the contemporary day. After proceeding to order my nutrients, I took a modest look Around and endorsed in the countercultural presence of the diner; I further got my food, A Grilled Cheese Deluxe with a Side Salad that I determined an immaculate and great meal after a rigorous day of traversing the Fairfax Campus of George Mason University. With it being my first visit to this perpetual chian of Id-Atlantic Diners, I will indeed be making future trips here in the long run.

My daughter and I recently had the pleasure of enjoying a brunch at the Silver Diner in Fairfax, and it was an experience we won’t soon forget. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm, inviting atmosphere that perfectly blended the charm of a classic diner with a modern twist. Our waiter, Uncle Vinny, was a standout from the start. His friendly demeanor and attentive service made us feel right at home. He was quick to recommend some of the diner’s specialties, and we could tell he genuinely cared about making our meal a great one. I opted for the Organic Bison Huevos Rancheros, and it was a perfect choice. The bison was cooked to perfection, tender and flavorful, and paired beautifully with the fresh ingredients and zesty salsa. It was hearty and satisfying, the kind of dish that leaves you full but still wanting just one more bite. My daughter decided on the Turkey Club Sandwich, accompanied by an Oreo Milkshake. The sandwich was stacked high with quality turkey, crispy bacon, and fresh veggies, all held together by perfectly toasted bread. The milkshake was the cherry on top—creamy, rich, and packed with Oreo goodness. What really set this meal apart, though, was the overall experience. Uncle Vinny’s service was impeccable, the food was delicious, and the diner’s atmosphere made for a relaxing and enjoyable brunch. Whether you’re in the mood for classic diner fare or something a bit more unique, the Silver Diner in Fairfax is a fantastic choice. We’ll definitely be back!

It's my first review now living in VA. We just moved to Fairfax area where we really enjoy the fresh weather and the chill in the air. The Silver Diner offers a great variety of food from breakfast to dinner. The meals are prepared using local fresh produce. In our first time eating at the restaurant my husband ordered 'Classic Eggs Benedict' and two pancakes as a substitute for french fries. I had the delicious 'Apple Pie-Stuffed French Toast with Scrambled Eggs and two Chicken Sausages'. The food is amazing not too sweet with just the right amount of caramel mixed with diced apples and whipped cream accented with crunchy nuts. The scrambled eggs are soft and the presentation surprised me - not usually seen in diners. The coffee mugs are of a generous size while you can still ask for refills or just a bit more for a warm up. For friendly service we had uncle Vinnie as our waiter. He's been working at the restaurant for 22 years. The restaurant is comfortable with a lot of space for large families and friends. I noticed they sanitize every table after the customers are gone. Also the stuff on the table like: salt, pepper, ketchup ... not sticky like in some other restaurants. It's worth it to stop by and give them a try.

Saturday morning outing with my daughter we chose a favorite Silver Diner! We enjoyed the atmosphere minus the fact that many of the booth juke boxes were out of order sadly. Our server was very nice and prompt with all services. The food was good as well. The only reason this place is getting a three star rating is the very uncomfortable conversations overheard from the manager on duty (short Latin lady with dark hair in a ponytail working the 3/11/23 morning shift) she was very rude to her staff and spoke to several staff members rudely/unprofessional in English and Spanish. She went so far as to tell a male staff member that his hair style made her sick and hurry up and get ready for his shift. Coming from the serving world I couldn’t imagine working under her “leadership” she lead her team morning meeting within direct ear shot of my table. The silver brand has always been a pleasant experience but this particular visit was quite uncomfortable.
