Sonic Drive-In — Restaurant in Virginia

Waited at drive up to order and finally decided to park and walk up as it was taking so long. Walked up and pushed button to order, waited several minutes. Finally someone took order and gave total. I slid my card into slot. Nothing else happened and the touch screen for ordering wasn't working so I figured we were good. Sat down at picnic table and waited. Another family of 4 came up, placed their order, got their food and left. I stopped an employee and asked about my order. He said he would check. Waited so long I finally went to the door where the employees were coming in and out of and asked about my order. Someone asked me if I had a receipt and I let them know I hadn't received one. She asked where I placed my order and I told her. She nonchalantly told me "oh, that one's not working, we ha e to run your card in here". When I let them know the person who took my order didn't tell me that, the employees just looked at each other, seeming somewhat clueless. I asked for a supervisor and was told there wasn't one, then when I asked, incredulously, again for a manager, a man who had been sitting on the other side of the counter said the manager wasn't there. I had to ask for the number of the manager, which took another 5 minutes. There was no attempt by anyone to remedy the situation, and no apologies! We left with nothing and wasted at least half an hour....

If you've ever eaten at a Sonic, you probably know what to expect. If not... A variety of traditional American fast food awaits you! I like the fact that the breakfast menu is all day.

My usual orders are the breakfast burrito, tots or o-rings, and a peach slush. Sometimes I mix it up and get a hamburger or a corn dog. The onion rings are sweet. The mozzarella sticks are melty. The milkshakes are thick.

Pro-tip : if you need ice for your cooler, or for a party, a bag of Sonic ice is the best I've ever had. When I travel back and forth across the country, I stop at a Sonic every day to fill up on ice.

Pro-tip #2 : the app is pretty useful. If you're ordering a drink that is not part of a meal, it's always half price in the app! Also, you can pre-order a meal and it will be ready at a certain time! I order from home or work and tell them the time slot I want to pick it up, sometimes an hour or more ahead of time!

My two big complaints are actually about the app. 1) you can't order bagged ice on the app the way you can at McD. 2)If you order at the stall, it will offer you a chance to pay from the app, but nobody can tell me how to actually do it. I have tried more than 20 Sonics across the country. Everyone just says that they have seen it done, but can't tell me how. So if you want to pay via the app, order...

I'm not sure if it because I hadn't ate Sonic in a while that made this food so good or what... But GOOGLE FAMILY, LET ME TELL YOU, I DEMOLISHED MY BURGER AND ONION RINGS.😂 My order was accurate as can be, both items were fresh and hot. I ate the crispy onion rings 1st, they are made in almost like a state fair corndog-esque batter, there is a HINT of sweetness in there that just flows PERFECTLY with Heinz 57 Ketchup. Now my burger, it was juicy, packed full of goodness (No pickles, add Mayo), just regular old No.1 Cheeseburger is my favorite, and the burger was just a little messy, just the way I like it! Almost but my finger off trying to eat that thing. Lol! I went at lunch time/height of the day, there were 6 cars in line and I feel we all left in a timely fashion provided the circumstances. The servers were friendly, and their customer service was good. The only thing I didn't like was physically entering and exiting this location! All in all 4/5 stars. Would definitely stop here again, even w/ the hassle of getting in and out of the place.
