January 26 at approximately 5:15 p.m. I went to the Starbucks in the Kroger at Rutland Marketplace. I will preface what I am going to say with I do not have high expectations here in regards to service. The smaller gentleman who appears to be the manager is probably the best barrista in Mechanicsville, though, so I don't get too uptight when it comes to the staffs abilities outside of making coffee. Tonight, however, something was different. The master barrista man was not working. It was a man and a woman who both appeared to be either late teens or early twenties. When I walked up they did not greet me. Fine. I am used to this. What was different was the look of annoyance from the man followed by a look of disgust from the woman. Alright. Strange. The woman approached the register but did not ask what I wanted. She just stood there blankly staring at me. I get the same thing every time I go. A plain coffee for me and a latte for my wife. This time it was more costly than normal. Again, strange. The thing is the look of disdain coming from the woman's face was so jarring I just accepted that tonight i will be paying more. Here is the issue. Something was going on between the two workers. I dont know if they were jilted lovers or mortal enemies but the tension was off the charts. I sort of feel bad for the woman. She looked miserable and continued giving me looks like I was responsible for all the evil in the world. She made the drinks. They were not on the level of the master barrista but I dont expect anyone else to create magic like he does. They were...not good. My point is I get it we all have hard days. We all have bad days. This experience was so bizarre that for the first time in years I am leaving a google review. I dont recall her saying any words to me other than the price of the drinks. Maybe they had both been told they were being laid off? I dont know. I hope they both feel better. The man, again, looked more annoyed than anything. The girl...just damn....

Well first look was at the price on the app and of course, being one of my cheap days I decided..nope not today I'm not paying 13$(ok.. 7 but might as well be 13 ๐ฅด). Starbucks is one of those special day things I treat myself to every once in a "make me happy" kinda feeling. Yep today was the day! I get my summer something drink on my way in Kroger and pay my 24.48$( ok..ok.. 7$) and start to sip and walk around grocery shopping.. well the best thing about the drink was the service and the little balls in the bottom of my cup.... I'm so sorry to say..I was very disappointed ๐.. Kroger lemonade probably would have been a better fit for me. It was ok... Not knock my socks off kinda great as I expected . But I will not say don't try it, it just didn't hit the happy spot for me....but..service...

I went to inform the barista, he told me it was probably a wrapper from the straw (implying it was my fault I can only assume) however, the straw wrappers are paper! Nice! So i mentioned that and his response was "OK DUDE". I'm not even a dude. Not offended. HE was just incredibly rude. I just wanted him to keep an eye out for what he was using, I didn't ask for a refund nor was I offered one. EXTREMELY ...
