Su Pollo — Restaurant in Virginia

Wellllll... I've been here for about a month. At least five different people have raved about this restaurant. Last night I decided to give it a try. I showed up, and there was a man standing right behind me holding his cute son. He looked like he had been there before because he wasn't trying to figure out what he was going to order. I asked him what to do because I had no clue what to order. I just planned on getting chicken. He told me I had to get the combination plate. The combination plate included chicken, tri-tip steak, salad, and a side. I started to panic when I got to the point where I had to order. Typically, I am a bit picky with my steak, so I asked the lady at the register if I should order the combination plate like the gentleman told me to. She immediately said yes. I didn't know what side to order so I just asked her to make my decision for me. She chose the rice and beans. I took my food to go and started to eat it about 10 minutes later. It was amazing! I couldn't eat at all, but I really really wanted to. If you go, get the combination plate! I really was interested in the desserts that they had available, and will have to try...

First time customer’s from Fairfax and we were blown away by the price for a family deal (under $40 for a whole chicken, 4 salads, 4 sides, and a 2 liter of soda), and every single item was heavenly! The chicken was so fresh, juicy, and piping hot, the salads were fresh, crisp and not watered down with the perfect amount of dressing, the yuka and fries were fresh and crisp to perfection! I am super picky about coleslaw and especially rice and beans (I find they are usually dry and flavorless at most restaurants) but they did not disappoint. In fact, next to my MIL they were the best I have ever had and they were also very fresh tasting! I was also equally impressed by the kindness and diligent employees as they cleaned more than a few times while we were there (e.g., mopped, swept, sanitized tables) and the food was prepared quickly and - as mentioned - perfectly! This place deserves its ratings! I have to admit, I wasn't sure what to expect, after arriving at Su Pollo. The parking lot wasn't well kept, and the exterior probably needed a good pressure clean to bring out the warm red paint, but don't let that fool ya. This place was fantastic! We received a friendly greeting with a smile. The cashier was ready to take our order and was on point. The food came very quickly, and we were out the door before we knew it. We had a picnic that day, and the first thing we tore into were the yucca fries. Wow were they good! Best yucca fries I've had yet in fact! The exterior was crispy, and the interior was soft, and melted right in your mouth. The chicken was great too! I took the white meat, and my wife the dark. The white meat was cooked to perfection.
