Tops China — Restaurant in Virginia

Rather deserving of its low reviews, unfortunately. Ordered there three times now because a housemate was insistent on trying it again. Unfriendly employees all three times. Asked for the free roll / fried rice that they advertise on the menu when you order a certain amount—once I didn’t get it, once they rolled their eyes like I was inconveniencing them for asking about it, and once they tried to charge me for the ‘free’ items.

Usually the food has at least been decent, but this time the moo shu pancakes were stuck together in one giant, greasy clump and torn already, and even fortune cookies were stale and obviously expired.

I don't know how to start except jump right in!! This Tops China is the best around!!! The consistency!! The great portions of food!! The flavor, the freshness, the, again, consistency of this restaurant is amazing. I travel from Hull Street Road to Midlothian just to come here. I have tried closer restaurants in my area but I'm always disappointed with my decision. Nothing beats this restaurant. Not great. We ordered General Tao’s Chicken Fried Rice Hot and Sour Soup and Spring Rolls. The chicken was mushy and too sweet. No spice. The fried rice was terrible. It was pale yellow and just tasted like rice with some chicken broth or something and a couple little bits of carrots. The Hot and sour soup was gross. It had a thick layer of oil on the top of it.
