Well I was truly disappointed with this restaurant. For the price point and the lack of taste I was heart broken. My wife and I were looking for a new place to try and stumbled on this restaurant. Walk in the place was fairly busy ourselves and 3 other tables menu was simple and easy to understand (create your own bowl) the cashier was super friendly and courteous. Explained to my wife how the salmon portion works only for regular and small bowls not larges (kinda feels deceitful) so we had to go with a second protein. (A lot of other places have an upcharge for priemum ingredients which I feel would have been a better way to handle the salmon but I digress) we order our bowls and 2 drinks standard Pepsi fountain ì go for the sobe life water (personal fav rare treat) and it's out then I go for the Tropicana lemonade also just water. The disappointment was apparent on both mine and my wife's face we find a table which I give credit were extremely clean thanks to the young cashier being very attentive. We take our seats and wait and wait and wait. During the time we waited we saw more and more customers coming in and out waiting on their orders. Door Dashes phone orders and mobile app orders coming in and told it will be up shortly shortly turned into about 45 minutes for each one. The cashier our shinning light was very apologetic and handing out coupons for free bowls which was nice I will admit. About 45ish minutes into our wait he brings us our food with a sincere apology and 2 coupons for a free bowl. At this time I will be honest I was frustrated but I was hopeful the food would be a redeeming quality for this evening. Once I tasted mine our friend disappointment returned to join us in our meal. My wife's bowl was made incorrectly so instead of asking for the vegetables and waiting the what felt like 3 to 5 business days for them to be prepared I shared my veggies with her. After about 4 bites I asked to a bag and was done with the meal. Asked my wife what she thought of it and she wasn't too pleased either. Before we left I got up and handed my coupons to another table of regulars. Needless to say I will not be going back.
We may have caught them on a bad night and I understand that. But I can't say it's something I will be willing or excited to give another chance too. The Young Cashier was really good and deserves his flowers. But the over all...
Read moreThey were real good at 1st. I mean almost comparable to a $50 meal at Kubutos! That says a lot. I got the teriyaki chicken w/rice & broccoli. Chicken was nice & cooked great along with the broccoli cooked to a perfect level of doneness (not too soft/mushy & not too hard) and the rice was not over cooked and was all good. The second time I decided to try the beef teriyaki with some kind of veggies (I think) a few months later. Man, was I in for a shock & not a good one. First off the meat was like someone made it with a food printer or something cause it was made like some kind of stuck together thin strips of steak? that had little to no taste at all. I dont remember there being any kind of teriyaki sauce in it & it was pretty dry. I dont really remember the rice or veggies over the fact of the beef being so gross. I don't think I ate much beyond a few bites of what I could force down cause it's what was for dinner that night. Think I wound up getting a bowl of cereal. The 3rd & last time. Opted for the 1st thing I got thinking it's going to be great and just as delicious as before! I was wrong. :( I dont know. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing? Are there different types of teriyaki chicken you can order? The whole problem with this 3rd meal was it was very wet! I mean, it was like they made the meal in the bowl then stuck it under runner water for a few seconds. The rice mainly was drenched in the bottom of the bowl which took away all the flavor. If there was any of the thick teriyaki sauce they used the 1st time I got it, it was watered down by the Hover Dam that flooded it. Again I didn't eat it all and wound up throwing most of it away because of the 1/3 bowl of water it contained. I'm not sure if I will go back. I do wish I could get that 1st bowl of goodness that I experienced from them...
Read moreI'll start with the all around atmosphere and restaurant itself: everything from tables to floors was sticky and hadn't been cleaned including the restroom. There really isn't much to rate on service due to the fact it's a walk up and order situation. Of course like everyone else they immediately ask for a tip when paying for self serve so don't be surprised and don't feel obligated. This is not a scenario where you just be supplementing someone's income for their service to your experience. Now for the food: the price point really misses the mark here for what you're getting. Sure the "bowl" of a cereal portion you will receive will be freshly prepared but be even that is deceptive. The noodles are store bought and not authentic, the rice is reheated frozen rice, potstickers-frozen, eggrolls-frozen of low quality yet charged as though they are doing something special. The chicken, the beef and the veggies are your "show stoppers" here and that's what you stick to if this is what you're hankering for. While I certainly won't be returning anytime soon if you haven't tried them I am not saying avoid them either. Grab a bowl to go and enjoy the flavors because they are sorta there. However, for what you're gonna spend I'd highly recommend going elsewhere so you won't be...
