I honestly have never written a review but this place was pretty bad, it was almost comical. To say pretentious would be an understatement. If you plan on taking family, don't plan on your kids drinking anything other than Coke from a can with no ice. We asked for Iced tea for the kids and the waitress looked at me like I was crazy. So it's lukewarm water with no ice for the kids? I said my kids don't drink soda and she offered them kombucha? I ordered a cheeseburger and asked the waitress how it was going to be cooked and she said she thought they were a Smashburger??? Totally a WTF moment for a 40 year old hard-working man. She said she was vegan and didn't eat meat so she really had no idea how a cheeseburger was cooked. Those were her words... like I said "wtf?" She had no idea what a medium-well cheeseburger was. What I got was an Angus burger that was actually pretty good but definitely not a Smashburger! It gets better. When it was time for the bill the waitress stands they're with a little machine and told the whole table it would be $74 and waited for the card? Yet again "wtf". I should have expected this because just trying to get a paper menu was ridiculous. I don't want to start my meal off with my two teenage daughters staring at a cell phone. I guess that's where my waitress said the menu was, on the cell phone and would have to see if she could find menus. With the price of the food you would think you were getting service with common sense but this is not it. That was one of the most ridiculous meals I've ever eaten but kudos to the chef because the food was...
Read moreWe'd not been to this location before and immediately noted to be quite different from the RVA Fan location. This one has a glossier feel -i can only speak for the inside - I didn't venture outside where there was an extensive patio was a nice fire as an option to gather around. Kristen W was our server and she treated us like she was a family friend; she has a great demeanor and had us feeling at home. We had the Goat pizza, and a hummus platter, spicy feta dip, hummus, and Tasziki as well as a giant pretzel with beer cheese, spicy mustard and marinara. Hubs had a Falcon Smash & Clever Girl, while I enjoyed two Cornucopia cocktails; YUM! It was all delicious! Extra most ginormous bonus points to Kristen W because not only was she a great serve, she's a great human too! After closing the check, my husband went to warm up the car while I went to the ladies room- totally forgetting my purse at my chair. Thankfully Kristen found it and she ran it to my husband who had already made it to the parking lot. We're both supremely appreciative! Overall, a...
Read moreWhile visiting for the holidays we wanted to try a local spot and was recommended Triple Crossing Brewery. We arrived and was seated quickly even though it was very busy. Kerry was our server, she was sweeter than southern sweet tea. With this being the first time there Kerry gladly suggested we try the fried chicken sandwich with buffalo sauce and the hot honey pepperoni pizza. So we took her up on those recommendations and ordered both. The pizza was delicious! The combination of sweet, savory and spicy danced across my pallet bringing my tastebuds to life! The chicken sandwich was just as delicious as the pizza! The chicken was fried to perfection (almost as good as my grandma makes… but don’t tell her I said that) and the buffalo sauce added a welcoming kick to an already amazing sandwich! The cherry on top was washing this delicious meal down with an ice cold pint of Czech dark lager. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting and while you’re there ask for Kerry, she will...
