TraditionZ Wings & Grill — Restaurant in Virginia

I was really excited to try this place…so having the mobile kitchen appear in Charles City at a concert was perfect timing. I will say, they had a long line so that was another attraction for me to help make a decision on which truck to visit. The food was ‘ok’, in other words, nothing to write home about. I wanted to try their fish…after standing in line for over 10 minutes, I OVERHEAR that they only have catfish. So I’m hoping that was incorrect because they had no noticeable sign saying that was the case. And whiting was still posted on the menu board. So I waited…and waited…after 20 minutes…we get to the window and hear the cashier finally say it. Now I’ve wasted my time because I’m not a catfish person. But here’s the kicker, they were OUT of whiting and anyone who wanted fish was required to pay an up charge because THEY didn’t have what was listed on their menu nor did they show proper notice of this so any customer wanting FISH had no option but to not get what they set out to do. Either consider your time in line wasted or choose alternative option…chicken. Because I also asked for BBQ..and that was out. Mind you the function had only been in swing for about 1.5 hours. Had there been proper notice, I would not have been waiting in line for 20+ minutes. I would have made my choice to go else where. At that point, going to the next truck was truly not an option because I would have missed the 2nd half of Legacy band because the 1st half was wasted waiting in a long line for a piece of fish I couldn’t purchase. At least they should have not up charged people who waited because of their lack of posted inventory (menu options) currently available. They could have even posted a hand written sign….I’m thinking mission accomplished…no one got out of line….they achieved what they want I gave a 4 for atmosphere because we were at an outdoor concert and that was VERY nice! And I regret standing there for the disappointment and missing the HAWKS delicious fish I was used to. But I wanted to give this...

The food, especially the fish, at Traditionz is very good! It is seasoned well and is always hot. The one problem I have is with the portion size of the side dishes. They only give about a 1/4 of a cup which equates to about a heaping tablespoon full. I mentioned this the last time I was there and was told that the owner told the girls that the serving size for sides was 6 oz. Well according to world calculations 6 oz is 3/4 of a cup and that was definitly not what I received as my side of Green Beans. In addition, when I ordered the Cole Slaw, I recieved more juice than Slaw. I took my meal back into the resturant and the young lady looked in the dish and then looked in the container of slaw and obviously saw that they didn't have any more so she gave me a container of Potato Salad instead.

I will keep going back to Traditionz because overall the food is very good. However, before you leave be sure and check your containers to make sure that you got the right order and the portions are to...

The business was said to be open at 11 am I called once at 1:30 one of the employees answered and said they were closed and wouldn’t be open until sometime after 2pm very rudely which left me confused and annoyed because there was no specific time given and she hung up on me mid sentence before I could ask her any questions I called back around 2:20 despite that because the prices were good and this time she let it ring through the first then the 2nd time I called I’m guessing she took the phone off the hook because I could only get the busy signal this was literally the worst experience ever the employee had no care in the world and it felt almost as if I were begging them to take my money very very dissatisfied and disheartening…sn I decided I would order with them being that they are a black business and I wanted to support but I’ve never been through this with...
