Those are roaches under those cups in the photos. Not doing catch and releases! Wanted to make sure we knew where they were at. I give a 0 for pest control. Roaches, roaches and more roaches in the room. Dropping from ceiling when dusk comes. Found a bug on the bed. Cannot confirm or deny it was a bed bug. I did search the beds and see they have bed bug covers on the mattresses so that is a plus. Had to leave at 9 pm. No other rooms available, but told the front desk I didn’t want another room because where there are roaches in one area, then there is a roach infestation everywhere. And folks these weren’t water bugs either. They were coming out from behind the paneling where the head boards are (running up the walls and to the ceiling), and under the beds and crawling on the floor.
Front desk folks were pretty good. Tina (day shift) was accommodating to us to get us a room since ours wasn’t ready yet. Jasmine (night shift) held her composure and professionalism while I was doing the best I could to remain calm about the roaches in our room. She offered to come and spray and clean the room, but then it would be hard to breathe in there from roach spray and that wouldn’t help anyways since more would probably be on there way out. I was also offered a cancellation and to leave, but I told her I had nowhere to go. She did try to call another place for us. I refused it as it was a downgrade from what I paid at this hotel. These hotels are Way over priced. Jasmine tried to satisfy my needs, but I was able to take care of things and get out of there and go elsewhere. She did give me a credit on top of the cancellation and an apology. I appreciate that.
Floors and carpets are not cleaned properly. Pool area is dark and not well lit. Fire pit out of order. Rooms smell musty (like the smell of the inside of a camper/tent/trailer). The drop ceiling in the lobby area broke due to a water leak and there was water all over in one area. They had a trash can there for the water to go into.
Positives: staff, coffee available 24 hours, late check out, breakfast served until 10:30, pool open late, clean bathroom, clean and bright linens and blankets, some modern decor.
But if you don’t mind taking a roach or other kind of bug (got one off the bed) home with you, then have at it folks, but we had to check all of our belongings before we left to see if any bugs crawled up in anything; some modern updates (furniture and decor) and color schemes, clean linens, blankets and towels, beds seem comfortable, but we didn’t sleep in them.
The updates for tiling, flooring and painting have definite short cuts in them. Not...
Read morePrice was nice. Breakfast was ok. Did have the ability to get some extra washcloths as I called for them. I checked in on Saturday and the staff was more than pleasant. I had an issue with parking. There was a woman who was standing in a parking spot & refused to move as I was attempting to park. Her husband who was driving started yelling & asking me to move my vehicle so he could park. I was there already. He went on to tell me my car was small enough to be parked on the other side & I should park there. I called inside the hotel & the front desk clerk came out. She explained to the woman she had to move out of the spot. The woman's husband grabbed the clerk & she pulled away. She explained she was calling the police. The woman moved & I was able to park. The breakfast on Sunday was less than desirable for me. EVERYTHING hot they offered had pork in it except for the waffles. There were omelets with ham, pork sausage, & white gravy with pork sausage. I stayed until Monday morning. The ladies who managed the breakfast on Sunday were great. The lady who managed on Monday morning well the complete opposite. There were eggs (no cheese), bacon, & potatoes. The potatoes weren't done all the way & there were long delays waiting for hot breakfast. One waffle iron was broken on Monday & that was frustrating! My toilet was stuffed up & I called for maintenance. I was told there's no maintenance on the weekend, but they did bring a plunger to my room & you guessed it I had to do it myself! I was so not impressed. I said you're not going to do it? He said we bring it & you can do it. Hell, I thought I was at home. This was less than desirable. Suppose that toilet overflowed, would I have to do that as well? I was never offered a new room or even a discount for this inconvenience. I was...
Read moreNOT HAPPY! We booked a room at Country Inn on 10/12/18 after having a great stay at the Charlotte, NC location and the desk specifically said the pool would be available in the morning (10/13). Military weekend passes are short and our soldier wanted a hotel with a pool. We were forced to book a "suite" (no other rooms left) but we took it because the indoor pool would be open. We took the 6.5 hour drive and arrived in the evening. Aside from the updated hotel lobby and breakfast area, the rest of the hotel looked run down. Our "suite" had a strange smell, damp and musty. We had to spray the room down with body spray to make it tolerable. I can only speak for our room but it was desperate for an upgrade. Furniture falling apart. The a/c worked well but it is only 64 outside. There were extra linens for the pullout couch. The bathroom floors were sticky, ac vent covered in rust, and the toilet paper was shoved into the frames as there were no rollers but hey, we had hot water! We lost money at the vending machines, the desk said they don't own them. Breakfast area was clean and consisted of hard boiled eggs, sausage, biscuits, cereal, make your own waffles, and the usual a.m. beverages. This morning we asked the desk when we can get into the indoor pool area they said not until tonight. So great, the only reason we came here was the pool which we can't use because we check out today. They offered us nothing. We were extremely disappointed and hope they will make this right because the room was not worth $130. We really wanted our soldier to...
