This was one of the worst experiences I've ever had ordering food. This terrible experience started with trying to get into the parking lot. There is no sign for the parking lot entrance and I had to drive around the store location for 10 mins to even get into the parking lot. I arrived at Ukrop's before 6:30 and waited in line for about 15 minutes as they 4 people working the hot food line were in no hurry to serve the customers. I wanted to order pizza and chicken to try them both but when I tried to order a slice of pizza, Iwas told that I could not order one slice of pizza because it was too close to closing. I was told that I had to order a whole pie. There were 2 pizzas with slices cut out of them on the counter that i ASSUMED were for pizza by the slice orders since one had a slice cut out of it already. These pizzas had come out of the oven since my arrival and everyone in front of me had already gotten their orders so I don't understand why I couldn't have one of the slices of pizza.
I proceeded to try to order chicken nuggets but was also told that I could not have chicken nuggets because it was too close to closing. I ordered 8 pieces of fried chicken since everyone raves about it. The chicken was juicy and hot and semi crunchy with a thick coat of breading. By the time I got home (5 minutes away) the chicken was soggy and very greasy. I would be embarrassed to serve this if I ordered it for an event.
The rest of the prepared food and baked goods were no better than you would find in any average grocery store. There were an assortment of deserts, some white rolls in a bag, some drinks for single drink purchase, and assorted deli type salads, prepared foods, and sandwiches that looked lackluster at best.
Ukrop's you are no Wegmans. I would not come back to this establishment if there was no other place in the world to buy fried chicken or pizza. Best of luck making money during COVID if you can't even provide food that you offer until your closing time. You need to train your employees that closing time is 7 pm not 6:45 pm and that all food offerings should be available until...

Read moreThis is a small location but somewhat the same food and desserts from Ukrops. The menu is limited here and doesn’t offer all that you could get in hot foods from Ukrops. For example, meatloaf is on the online menu but not available in person. Another example is the pulled pork barbecue was served hot back in the day. Today, you have to get it in the refrigerated section and reheat at home like leftovers. I’ve always called Ukrops hot foods cold leftovers and that won’t change here either. You can get chicken salad sandwiches refrigerated as well as cold paninis, cold pizza, cold fried chicken. Yes, you got it. It can all be found in the refrigerated section aka “leftovers section”.
The line to enter is a little long but tends to go fast if you want hot fried chicken or hot pizza. Otherwise, the food is in the refrigerated section. Desserts and rolls are out on various tables.
Enjoy but it’s not quite the same. I can order desserts online and just pickup from your uptown location and skip standing in a line in the cold. While things change, so does Ukrops when it comes to hot...
