Wendy's — Restaurant in Virginia

I've been eating at this Wendy's for YEARS. I used to eat inside but since Covid most of the time I use the drive-thru. I visit here 3 or 4 times a week and 99% if the time I order the 4 for $4 special. Currently they're pretty accurate with my order. There was a time about 4 months ago that my order was wrong half the time. Once I order the 4 for $4 and when I got to work and opened the bag, they gave me the wrong order. I got a Dave's double, large fries, and their largest chicken nuggets. That order was probably a $12+ order. It was so much food I couldn't eat it all. But it was good. lol They, like all fast food places, have a high turnover rate. The burgers are hit or miss. Sometimes they're cooked just right and other times they're DRY and OVERCOOKED. A couple times the corners of the burger are actually black and crunchy. They're a bit stingy with the mustard and onions and overjoyed to smother the burger with ketchup. I'm not much of a fan of ketchup. I use it but not as much as they put on it at times. I like mustard so I ask for just mustard and onions on it. Some of their employees need a different type of job. They don't speak, they just take your payment and give you your receipt and/or your food. They don't say Hi or thank you. These young people need to understand that working fast food is a customer service oriented business. There are, but few, that are very good at their job. I don't know if it's just some of them being anti-social or poor job training. I would think it's the lack of training and lack of supervision. RECOMMEND: Yes Fantastic service today. Really appreciate the enthusiasm, smiles & assistance. Interior was updated & clean. Felt surprisingly comfortable.

LOCATION: Easy access from Potomac Mills outlet mall area and I-95 freeway.

FACILITY: Clean. Standard Wendy's fast food building and interior decor. Restroom was clean when I last visited.

SERVICE: Fast & Accurate (my personal experience)

NOTE 1: Rating is relative to fast food restaurants in general. this rating would not be a good reference point for comparing this restaurant to a high-end steakhouse, etc

I understand and empathize with folks who drive away with an incorrect order. I've dealt with similar problems (incorrect food &/or $ change) over the years at various restaurants, with the majority of problems occurring at fast food restaurants. I suggested my family and friends review the accuracy of any drive-thru order at ANY restaurant before departing.

A few years back I gave the situation some thought & realized something... Staff at most fast food restaurants are overworked and underpaid (minimum wage) Staff are often very young and still developing their personal/professional work ethic and focus I need to take more PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY for the things I can control, such as VERIFYING the $ change as well as the food in the bag 👀, BEFORE DRIVING AWAY

I could not believe what I seen today at this store. The manager was screaming at a customer who had been waiting for at least 30 minutes. As I was waiting in line I asked the man if he had been waiting long because he kept checking his phone and I had seen he was here prior to my arrival. He said " not too long, honestly usually this place is pretty fast. Usually its the customers that slow it down." I am not from around here and I didnt want to wait long, which is why I had asked him. Before I knew it the manager was screaming at him for asking about his order. Completely setting the man off to the point where he had to leave because there was clearly no talking to the manager and as she continued to yell at him he was growing increasingly angry and I am surprised he didn't go after her..... this is not a good look for your business. . I have never in my life seen an employee act that way except on maybe YouTube, this was unacceptable. I am assuming this is a franchise because if this was a corporate location they would be cleaning house of this mess. Absolutely abhorrent. 0 stars,...
