I’ve been to this pace maybe like two times before this visit, but I’ve always been impressed by this place everytime that I’m here. I last visited on October 25th at around maybe 11:00am and stayed for about 3 hours to catch up with a relative so it wasn’t crazy busy, but there definitely were people working on their papers and computers, chatting with friends and what not. Per usual, I’ll be basing my rating this place on 4 things (Aesthetic, cleanliness, employee engagement, and food) with an overall to sum up my thoughts: Aesthetic: This place reminds me of a millennial plant lover’s dream home. The walls aren’t covered in plants, but there are enough to wonder how they take care of them all without them dying. Brick walls, exposed pipes, 70s retro line wall, high wood ceiling, and a huge skylight? Def a millennial’s dream like I said. I heard the place was run down when they bought it so they used the natural features of the building to their advantage (only what I heard, not for sure facts). Lots of seating and outlets if you need a place to work AND theres indoor and outdoor seating so its lit. Cleanliness: Veryyyyyy clean. Bless up. We love a clean coffee shop. What is kinda weird is that the restroom is located ride outside the entrance and although it is clean, it is not completely nice, but what more can i ask from a restroom except that it flushes and has soap and water lol I just use the restroom at home because I don’t like it personally (its a me problem, not a Component problem) Employee Engagement: The workers are really nice! They had great recommendations of things their menu and seemed like their conversation was genuine. Shout out to the cashier named Jess, what a homie. She was great and I’ll take her coffee recommendation any time. Food: I got the matcha latte withwhich was my order and once I finished that, I got Jess’ recommendation which was the sweet latte with cinnamon. I think that the matcha was alright. Their powder I believed either the powder is already sweetened or not true powder (I don’t think it is that when looking at the brand they use), or the sweetening syrup they use is different, but I honestly think it is that I am just used to a different brand of matcha. I liked the latte, but I like my matcha lattes to have a strong matcha taste that’s lightly sweet. Maybe the latte was too sweet for my taste, but when I had it I didn’t find it to be my fave. Although this be the case, Jess’ recommendation for the sweet latte with cinnamon was a hit with me. I loved it, simple and lightly sweet, I found that the balance of the coffee, creme and cinnamon just was great. I loved it and am going to keep getting this! Overall Thoughts: We need more places like Component Coffee in the valley. It’s one of the rare places that you can invite your friends to or do homework/computer work at. It’s local which I always feel great about supporting and the place just feels homey. I think it beats out Starbucks, Dutch Bros, and the Human Bean, so definitely giving this Component 10/10, 5 stars.

So the only reason I’m not leaving 5 stars is because the food just didn’t hit it for me. Not saying this place isn’t great and wouldn’t recommend it because I do and I definitely think you should check them out and get some coffee and who l knows maybe you will enjoy there food. There food isn’t bad just missing something. I got the breakfast burrito and my wife got the avocado toast. The burrito was good but the sauce they put in it was really overwhelming and they put a lot of it! So it was very soupy and way to wet in some parts of the burrito and I wasn’t a fan of that. The avocado I felt like was more of a show piece rather than food. It was missing a lot of flavor. I understand that it was suppose to be a modern twist on a old school traditional dish but you can still put some seasoning with the butter spread or on top of the avocado. The poached egg on top was cooked great but very small in comparison to the rest. The thing that really got me was it’s completely covered in sprouts! Just take it easy a little lol now with that being said overall this is an amazing coffee shop! I will definitely come back, the vibe, the people and the staff we’re absolutely a great to be around! I would recommend this place and definitely think you should check it out.

This contemporary little coffee shop is hidden away in an alley, housed in an old warehouse, and serves some great treats! Hot cocoa served in a large mug with a toasted marshmallow on the side, delicious beignet's, and large donut holes with a sugar coating. They do serve some more savory meals as well, including breakfast burritos, acai bowls, and fancy avocado toast. They have a selection of other doughnuts, coffees, and mochas, and I didn't hear anything but good words from the folks I went with. The only downfall is that indoor seating is very limited, and this place is very popular. They do have tables and benches outside, with nice rustic aesthetics, but don't be surprised if sitting room is unavailable.

I came here because of the positive reviews. If I could give this place negative stars, I would. I have dietary restrictions, and I specifically came here because they said they could turn the burrito into a bowl for me and accommodate my GF restriction.

Specifically the day we came here, my friends and I had signed up for a General Grant tree tour along with star gazing. We were on a tight timeline that morning, and so I came in with my friends and placed a pick up order. The wait time was long but this place had great reviews so we thought it would be worth it. About 45mins to an hour later, we get the food, and lo and behold, the food with the dietary restrictions was not there. When we asked them about the burrito bowl, the barista apologized and said that she had no idea what happened to the food. And unfortunately since the kitchen was now closed, they could no longer accommodate the request. I told her that my entire group of friends specifically came here because of my dietary restrictions and because of time restrictions, there’s no other place for me to get food. She apologized again and told me the most she could do was to comp me for the burrito bowl but other than that, there was nothing she could do for me.

Although I appreciated the apology, this experience completely ruined my whole day. I went on the tour and had to stay hungry the whole day because there were barely any restaurants that were open on thanksgiving weekend and/or accommodated dietary restrictions.

So go to this restaurant if you have hours to spare and no dietary restrictions. However if you’re going for a tour around the area and have restrictions, AVOID at ALL COSTS because this place is not reliable. They also messed up the coffee orders so if you’re ordering non-dairy milk, watch them to make sure they’re using the right milk. It’s not a reliable place if you have...
