The Visalia Comfort Suites is in a fantastic location, walking distance to many restaurants, breweries, and bars, and driving distance to the Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks. The room set up was great with separate seating area and bed area. When we checked in I spoke with the front desk person about how we were going to be there for 4 nights. She put us in room 210, directly above the elevator control room. All night long we heard the elevator machinery and strange loud buzzing whenever someone went up to down the elevator. And it sounded like everyone that used the ice machine was using it in our room the clinking and banging was so loud. We couldnāt even hear our own tv in our room with all the elevator and ice machine noise. We had to leave early the next morning and didnāt get back until late that night, and spent another sleepless night and early morning. Finally, on the 3rd day I was able to move our room away for from the elevator, and things were much better the next two nights. The rooms are in great need of up dating. Both rooms we were in had microwave knobs that were broken. The air conditioner unit in the first room gurgled and banged when on, but unfortunately not loud enough to drown out the elevator noise.
Despite all that, staff was very friendly, beds were pretty comfortable, and weād probably stay there again if we were to come back to Visalia. Weād just know to request a room far away from...
Hotel its self was fine with the exception of a clogged sink. Majority of staff very helpful and friendly. Check out person on last day, forgot her name, had a very rude demeanor. She insisted on charging for smoking in the room when the room itself had not been smoked in during my stay. It is a common practice for my guest that was staying with me to go outside and smoke and if no ashtray is avail he snubs his cigarette out and puts filter in his pocket so not to litter. When he came back into the room he removed the filter from his pocket and threw in trash receptacle. The room itself had no oder of smoke. I myself am a non smoker and am sensitive to this smell. Her only claim was that butts were found in trash and therefor a full cleaning of entire room shampooing all carpets and cleaning of drapes and bedding was necessary. This absolutely was not the case. There was no oder in room, only filter in trash receptacle. She then said that she would not charge me but would put me on a do not rent list, (assuming for this particular hotel). I said that was fine, because of her attitude I would never return myself anyways. I have been a customer of Comfort Suits for many years and have never had a problem at any other hotel I have ever stayed at. This person was completely out of line and although I realize she does not represent Comfort Suits as a whole, I will never stay at that particular establishment as long as she is...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLogistics. We are mid 70ās and not officially disabled but itās quite a strain to walk distances pulling luggage. We arrived and parked in a space designated for the hotel. I had checked in on-line. Without looking up at us, the attendant asked for ID, no hello. There was no offer to help with luggage or even indicate there was a luggage trolley for use. āPut this yellow tag on the dash board, swip the room key to be admitted to the garage and pick āanyā spot.ā Difficult to find an open spot that wasnāt āreservedā in some manner. I never saw an open Comfort Inn spot. It was a very long walk for me back to the lobby and the room. Thank goodness we had the fore thought to bring all luggage in first.
The room was quite small and on a busy street. I did not sleep well.
On our way out in the morning, again the clerk never looked up until I said good morning. As we approached the lobby doors one employee was about to come in. She was totally clueless. She watched us struggle with the doors and luggage with no offer or attempt to at least hold one door for us. As I waited for my husband to get the truck I looked into the lobby and saw where the luggage trollies were kept. Too little help too late. I canāt say that Iām surprised at this behavior. Folks today donāt help on purpose they just do not realize they should offer to help. It is the hospitality...
