I have lived in Vista for about 8 years. I have eaten at many Taco and Mexican food spots and let me tell you, Taqueria Chabelita beats all the regular taco shops in the area. This is the first time eating at this restaurant and me and my wife will definitely be back. I can honestly say that I will not eat Carne Asada, Al Pastor or Tripa tacos from any another place in the area but here. The meat is flavorful, has just enough char and tasted fresh. They are so good, and the tortillas are regular sized and handmade. The salsa they have is also very good. I also want to thank the young lady who took our order and served us. She gave off a good vibe, was smiling, humorous and attentive. It really felt like she enjoyed her job. She made us feel very welcomed. I love me some good customer service. P.S there is a hidden menu with goodies that are not on the regular menu ASK THEM...
Read moreAmazing! My 8yr old got the burger...HUGE burger! One of the best burgers I've ever had (yep, I shared too)! El pastor quesadilla also very large and fantastic. Other daughter had the California Burrito and she said it was excellent. We also ordered some burritos to go for the rest of the family and have no doubt they'll be just as amazing. We had so much leftover it was crazy. We ordered a bunch with the knowledge that all other Mexican restaurants don't serve this much but were pleasantly proven wrong! The only downfall here is it's a little too expensive.
We have to drive across town to get here but we'll do it many times per week from now on! The owners are amazingly talented and polite. They take their time making it RIGHT and NOT like the "other Mexican places"...thank you so much!!
We'd post pics but we're too full to open the bags...
Read moreIn the middle of a move, I needed a quick lunch and saw the great reviews for Taqueria Chabelita Taco Shop. I ordered a plate with 2 fish tacos, rice and beans. Wow, love this Mexican food! The fish was mild and moist with just the perfect combination of cabbage, sauce and spice with lots of lime wedges on the side. The refried beans were perfectly spiced and flavorful. The Spanish rice was tender and light. The owners were very friendly and everything was made fresh as my order was received. Just before walking out the door with my take out, I saw another patron order Horchata. It looked homemade, so I ordered it as an after thought. It was delicious and instantly recognizable as home made, very flavorful! I will definately be a regular at this great little taco shop. Can't wait to try something else on the menu! 5 stars, I...
