Panera Bread — Restaurant in Voorhees Township

This was the first time my wife and I were in Panera Bread. This place has more of Barnes and Noble feel than a restaurant. Lounge chairs and fireplace. This I will give them credit for the bread and rolls were good. It is very confusing as to were to order and were to pick up your food. There are no signs directing you as to where to order and pick up the food. The cashier did not explain any of this to us after we ordered the food, she just gave us a pager and did not explain the process of getting the food. The menu board is posted behind the cashier and is to high up to read, the lighting was bad, and you can barely read the menu and the prices for the food items. I asked for a water with the meal and was handed a cup, no directions as too where the water was. Asked another employee and she did not know where the water was, she said I should go back to the employee who had given me the cup and ask them. I asked to speak to the manager on duty, and she told me the water was at the soda machines. I told I was back there twice and did not seen any signs. She went back there with me and there was a small label. It was under one the name brand sodas listing water with a small button to press to dispense the water.

I ordered the toasted steak and white cheddar sandwich the bread was good but other than that nothing special. Also ordered the Turkey Chili this was nothing special. A lot of spice and a nice taste, “Where’s the Turkey”. The meat was so finely grounded up it could have been beef; it did not taste like turkey. My wife ordered a bacon grilled cheese sandwich looked good the bread was good but nothing special. This place is not worth the prices they are charging for the food. This Panera is excellent. I order a lot of Panera for work clients for breakfasts and lunches all across the country while traveling and it turns out the BEST Panera is right in my own town! Orders are always completed very quickly, which at other locations sometimes means you get lesser quality, but the Voorhees Panera never skimps on quality.

We never have issues with Panera, but I decided to write this review because of how wonderfully they did deal with an issue that came up with our lunch order today. We ordered delivery through the Panera site, but the delivery was completed by DoorDash. The driver accidentally dropped my order off to someone else and I got there’s. I called Panera and they were already working on remaking the orders. We received our correct order quickly, and again with great quality, even earlier than the original estimated delivery time after it had to be remade and delivered again. In addition, they included some goodies from the bakery, which was greatly appreciated though not expected as we still got our lunch on time! DoorDash caused the issue and Panera took the hit with having to remake orders (ours was large) and they still put their customers first by including extras to make up for the issue. The food was amazing! If you're a French onion soup lover you have to get it in the bread bowl and order about 3 of them! My absolute favorite! The only problem why this is a 4 instead of 5 star is because it was my first time ever visiting a Panera bread not even just this location and I felt rushed because they were busy but I told them it was my first time there so I had no clue what they had to offer. Also, I had to ask where drinks were because I thought they served them to us, instead you have to walk all the way to the back of the restaurant for your own. Not ideal for someone who ordered ahead of time in a rush. Also, I had no clue where to stand to get my order, no one told me that either. There was a sign to look at with your name to know when your food was ready. She never asked my name so I couldn't use that either. I feel you need to explain to new customers what to do or where to go to make them feel comfortable.
