I was there March 16th. With two fellow coworkers from over sea. The are eruopean. 10 females entered the establishment. I offered to buy them beers. If they inky say they where Baylor university. After buying the females beer. I was told. I was cut off for being to intoxicated. My euro friends told the statement. I was not intoxicated and he would pay for the rounds. We where then told we where not welcome and asked to leave . I am a very easy going person. So at that point I had to ask my commands to leave. The translations takes a min. Because they do not speak English. I tried to explain to rude owners or managers than it takes a min. To translate but we're heading towards the door . When a rude. Owner or manager grabbed my arm to escort me . I snatched my arm away and instructed him to. Do not ever touch my person. This is and assault. On my body and self imagine in public. I did inform him if he needs to call the local authorities. I'm ok with that. But DO NOT EVER TOUCH ME. Then several people gather around and grabbed me ..
I will be asking owners of this establishment to re view the videos of March 16th 2024. If they do not feel I or my comrades was miss treaded. I will file a civil lawsuit against persons involvle and the manager as well as anyone who Owns the property . Or investors.. if you don't like foreign people in your establishment. Post it on your outside .. I am a full blooded. 100% American. My family came here in 1700. If you don't like foreign people. Check you record. Where is the people that own this place from. It's not the same place I used to frequent years ago, however. I dropped it down a couple of stars. Some of the bartenders need to work on their people skills. With the exception of a few regulars who sit at the very tiny bar (seats 4 or 5 people, seriously), the rest of us don't really feel particularly welcome ("dear bartender, pardon me for asking you to do your job by stopping the conversation with your buddy at the bar and serving me a beer, thank you").
It's extremely loud when busy, so loud it's virtually impossible to have a conversation. Go early or risk blowing out your eardrums with people shouting just trying to talk over one another.
Finally almost all of the beers on tap are can be found at other places in town (e.g., even a place like Old Chicago has a lot of overlap because they get their beer from same distributor, just to name one). Further, there are several options downtown with friendlier service and better happy hour pricing (Barnett's, Waco Ale Co., Southern Roots Brewery, Cricket's, etc), so I usually go to these...
Read moreI come here weekly. They cycle through breweries every Thursday and you can keep the cup from the brewery if you show up at 6 on Thursdays. They have a trivia night on Tuesdays that's insanely difficult, definitely meant for the grad student crowd. There's always a food truck in the back patio serving food. The food truck closes around 8 most days. They'll bring the food into the bar to you if you want to sit inside.
