The best part of this experience was the pictures I took & The person I was with 💘. There's almost no where to park, the property wasn't very well kept. The bears must have been inside the enclosure because the only thing I seen on the entire platform was some chick with her laptop , and squirrels running around their habitat...where were the bears ?! But despite not even getting a glimpse of the bears I was excited to see, I still decided to get a souvenir coin on the way out, and low and behold after I decided on the coin, without the bear, and go for the names... I got NO coin . Upon further inspection, I have realized that nobody has gotten a coin , in a long time, because we can clearly see that nobody maintains this at all!

This was our first stop on a Saturday outing trying to save money! I have a 10-year-old son and he absolutely loved the bears. They had just been fed their breakfast and the zoo keepers put peanut butter on the windows so the Bears would lick the peanut butter and get really, really close so you could see them! This made for lots of questions from an inquisitive child! We looked at the little creek that’s below and it was awesome. We had a good time and the best part is it’s FREEE!

The bears look well cared for. Their fur is glossy and they don't seem hungry. My one concern is that the enclosure is a bit too small for them; you can walk around it in 3 minutes or less. I also noticed one of the bears doing that repetitive stressed pacing near a gate. There is a lot of space around the enclosure, I hope Baylor thinks about expanding the place. It could also use some more foliage, perhaps some berry and nut trees they can have a snack from.

As a 1976 grad this is only the second time I’ve seen the new Bill and Eva Williams Baylor Bear Habitat on campus and it’s impressive! (Eva and I were club sisters in Kappa Theta.) Judge Joy had sadly passed away this past year and Judge Lady was napping the whole time we visited (normal for a hibernating black bear in midwinter!). But many families and visitors circled the Habitat, enjoying the educational signage, tributes and brick walk of honor on a pleasant December afternoon. So proud of Baylor University for keeping this open — the only certified habitat on a college campus...
