Wish I could choose ZERO stars! Disaster! Took my parents out for dinner who are in their 80’s to the Dairy Queen. in Waconia. A special outing for them. We were all excited. My husband and I were meeting my parents there. We got there first and I am glad we did. They were NOT busy when we got there, but every table was filthy. We wiped off a table with some water and napkins. The floors were filthy, and so was the pop station. Made no sense as everyone was kind of standing around doing nothing. Seemed as if there was NO supervision there. This did not look like a NEW DQ, but one that has been around for many years. Very messy and dirty! Parents showed up – we all started to order with Loren. She left halfway through taking our order and Joey finished up with us. What an attitude that Joey had. Rude, no enthusiasm, obviously did NOT like his job. Food came out and half of it was missing. Never even was keyed in as an order. Some kind of disconnect there – not surprised. The food that came was COLD and by the time the rest of the food came, some of us were already done eating. Pop machine squirted pop out all over. Nothing stocked at the pop station. Restaurant was so cold! Went to throw out our garbage and there was no garbage can even in the cabinets that hold the garbage. It would have landed on the floor inside the cabinets if we threw it in there. I am sorry, but I can’t think of one good thing about our experience. Never were thanked for coming in and as we left there was a lot of standing around and leaning against the counters with a dirty restaurant. I felt bad for my parents – they were so looking forward to a “night out..” Going forward we will go to the Norwood-Young America DQ. They run circles around Waconia DQ. So disappointing for a brand new DQ. I do not normally write reviews – but this one...
Read moreOn April 22 (Today) I went through the drive-thru and ordered 3 blizzards to treat my kids as a surprise. My 3 kids and I sat in the drive-thru for over 20 minutes before we got to the window. 10-12 minutes of that was sitting behind one last car before we got to the window. The people in front of us only ordered 2 hot meals. Once we got to the window the worker apologized for delay but I could see our blizzards just sitting on counter melting. I asked the worker how long they were sitting and she could not say. I stated I do not want to pay for ice cream that has been melting for 10+ minutes. She the proceeded to check them and you could tell they were runny from the car. She then looked back at me silent with a look that she expected me to pay versus offering to remake them so I refused the ice cream and left.
I understand that they are busy. I had no problem waiting, but to then try and serve melted ice cream is unacceptable. They easily could have parked the 1 car in front of us why they waited for the hot food to be done so they could give us our ice cream or, they could of offered to remake the ice cream but neither happened. To add a cherry on top I also lost out on an App reward I redeemed when I entered drive-thru as the offer expired 15 minutes after redemption.
Needless to say it was not a...
Read morepretty poor experience if i do say so myself
… we gave it another try, it was a mistake. we waited for our food for 25 minutes, just for it to be stone cold, plus one of the items was completely wrong… do the employees not know how to read a menu ticket? it that not what they are being paid to do??
update: i pull into the drive through at 9:20 pm, there are 3 employees standing around chit chatting at the counter, completely ignoring me - i then honk my horn to get their attention, they then WAVE me off… as if they were closed when their closing time of 10 pm is clearly stated both online, their front door, and their drive through window. ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS… honestly anyone who pays money to this establishment should get their head examined. even with the new...
