SLOW, SLOW, SLOW! Be prepared to spent a long time waiting. This El Loro is not owned by the same people who own the El Loro's in Bloomington -- and it shows. We've given them two chances, and now we will never go back. The first time, it took 15 mins for us to be seated another 15 mins for us to receive water and chips. We ordered pops and never once were they refilled. Our family shared fajitas which unsurprisingly did not come out sizzling. We figured we'd give them a second chance -- maybe it was just an off night.
Nope, never again. Our hostess was completely clueless and appeared really out of it, her eyes were bloodshot. When seating us, she didn't say a word, and walked us in a circle before proceeding to trip and bump right into me (I'm 6 months pregnant). The restaurant was not busy. Upon seating, we waited. And we waited. And we waited some more. Until finally, we left. This restaurant does not deserve the business of hardworking people who just want a decent dinner after a busy day. I am so disappointed Rey Azteca's closed and this is the only Mexican restaurant that is left in Waconia. Do yourself a favor and go...
Read moreGood local Mexican restaurant! We really liked the service and speed. No complaints there. They have a lot of TVs, making it feel like a sports bar/restaurant feel.
The food was good but not the best in comparison to other Mexican restaurants within a 20 mile radius. I really liked the salsa. It's probably my 2nd favorite I've had (1st is more than 20 miles away). This salsa had a slight kick (we like spicy) and pretty fair amount of cilantro (we absolutely love in salsa).
My wife and I had the fajitas for 2 (what we get everytime we try a new-to-us Mexican restaurant). We liked it but we prefer other restaurants for this meal (Patron in Chaska). The quantity was plenty for a meal but for the price, we have received probably 50% more at another place with much more meat (good for leftovers!). My wife's biggest complaint was that the veggies (green pepper and onion) were on the mushy side. Shrimp was delicious and had what seemed like a handful.
My wife also had a margarita, which was delicious but could've used a tad more alcohol.
Overall, we may come here again if in the area but if planned out, we will probably...
Read moreStarted of receiving some chips and salsa. Those were fine, but after some time of eating them, they progressively got an odd aftertaste after some time, but they were still good. After some time, we received our drinks, which were good. Next, we ordered our food and the waitress asked us if we wanted anything else after we said what we wanted. We said no, she said "good." We received our food. The other two with me stated that their food was fine. Mine was, unfortunately, overcooked. I did not plan to pick this choice of food, mainly because it wasn't something that I enjoyed having, however, I can see why others would enjoy it, and although it was somewhat overcooked, I am sure others would enjoy it, thus is why the rating is as high as it is. Oh, and the music is quite... Modern. Not classical nor anything like that....
