I wish this place had been open when I was a college student living in St. Boni. There is so much room upstairs for studying or hanging out with friends! It reminded me of pubs I've been to in Ireland, located in really old buildings, where one room leads to another and then another, and you're like, "where does it end?" It was really cool, so 5 stars for atmosphere. The coffee was pretty good. My only complaint would be the food. I actually laughed when my half grilled cheese panini arrived at the table. It was so small and had zero presentation. And what was the cheese? Something processed? I don't even know. But for almost six bucks I expected a little more...something. Glad I got the half and not the whole. My friend got a breakfast sandwich and it was the same...small and not that appetizing, and I think it cost even more than mine. For 2 small sandwiches and 2 specialty coffees we paid $25. A little steep for what we got. But this place has potential!! Maybe just add a little something on the side of those sandwiches (cole slaw? A kale leaf?) or use thinner bread for the panini and make them bigger? Waconia really needs this place. (I still can't accept the fact that Frost and Steam is gone.) The students at Crown need a place like this to hang out. The menu just needs a...
Read moreThey have very good food there but their service sucks. My sisters and I got a drink and something to eat before our pedicures and we were SO late to our pedicure apt. There was 5 people there.. one person working.. long line.. does this make sense ?no. I worked at Starbucks and this was the exact opposite. No, you aren't starbucks but if you want peoples business, treat them right! You are not first priority, the customer is! They were on their phones and WHO knows what else. I was so confused and seriously could not believe that it was happening. I worked for a woman who owned her own coffee shop like that and we could not act like that.,we KNEW not to act like that.. we got customers in and out as fast as we could.. thats why people wanted to come back. Good thing I don't live in that town ...I would be going...
Read moreThis is the coziest little coffee shop! I found it recently by asking Google to find coffee near me while in Waconia, and I'm glad Google brought me to Mocha Monkey rather than the nearby Caribou. They serve dine-in food and beverages on what appear to be handmade pottery tableware pieces, which was super cute. They have nice little areas set up with comfy chairs, a fireplace, and cozy furniture so I could see myself chilling out there drinking delicious drinks and reading a book for hours. Their chai was great and I also had a tasty breakfast sammy. I'll have to go back for their stuffed hot pretzels. They looked amazing! Great coffee, great food, great atmosphere! I'll have to find another excuse to go...
