Proprietors Brian & Cheryl of Egg-Cetera Café 241 E Frontage Rd. Waconia MN 55387 Hours – Monday-Sunday 7am to 12:45
Take pride in welcoming you and your family into their restaurant. The atmosphere is currently filled with seasonal Halloween decorations that take your eyes and mind on a trip that will put a smile on your face and stir some memories of Halloweens past. I’m told the Christmas decorations are quite extensive and will also be on display when the time comes. This alone has and will warm the hearts of many a customers and make the trip well worth your time.
There’s also lots of eye candy for those whom enjoy the outdoors with hunting lodge types of pictures of hunting dogs and hand carved and painted wild fowl and fish that have some blue ribbons attached to them is a must see.
I have been a repeat customer now ever since my first visit to this exceptional now favorite breakfast spot. The owners have a passion for family and seniors and I have to say it’s a local favorite with many regulars. The menu is very nice and the portions generous and the value is just right. I don’t think I saw anything on the menu over ten dollars.
I had a chance to chat with Cheryl whom is the kindest waitress that gets to know your order and moves like lightening and most times has your drink order before you even sit down. After going there a few times she has my order memorized and it’s three of four variations and always offers some conversation that makes you laugh with some interesting scuttlebutt of the time. Then I have to say the eggs that Brian cooks are some of the best over easy eggs anywhere. The signature breakfast is the Egg-Cetera Omelet, this is one you would want to try if you have a hearty appetite as it is quite filling with all the ingredients nothing to add as it’s all there.
Lastly there is a display of the town of Waconia showing all the buildings and water tower, I don’t know how many ceramic or hand crafted items they have but it’s a lot and they are lite up and one has a good time just looking at that for quite some time. After going back to it a few times I now know there is a story to almost each and every piece. People from around town have donated personal items so it has become sort of a community effort to build this display.
I really wanted to write this up for the Egg-Cetera Café and if you go there to check it out you will know why. So my secret is out…This is a great place to go, do yourself a favor and enjoy a breakfast or lunch while the decorations are on...
Read moreSticky table, mediocre food, too expensive for what you get portion and quality wise. I asked for a side of gluten free pancakes, the waitress brought 3 pancakes. I didn't think much of it since they were all different sizes and one was really small, I just figured they gave me what is equal to two. Well, thank goodness I don't have Celiac, just sensitivity. I figured it out when I saw the $6 charge. When I asked her about the higher charge, she said, "you asked for three." I said, "no, I asked for gluten free." She looked worried and said those weren't gluten free. I said it was ok since I am not Celiac. She said, "I repeated back to you three and you said yes," well I assumed she said "free pancakes," like some kind of restaurant slang. There isn't even an option for three pancakes on the menu...she didn't offer to take the third pancake off the bill despite saying how she is Celiac and she's really careful with that and it scared her that we had that miscommunication. Had I wanted 3 pancakes, I would've felt cheated that one was so small. "American fries," were flavorless, didn't eat them. Omelet was "eh." My husband liked his French toast and my daughter liked her pancake. Just not worth the money. Could've gone to People's Organic for the same price. Or could've gone to any other breakfast spot for...
Read moreUPDATE! After the rude comment by the owner below, I am going to address her dishonesty and rudeness in her reply.
Someone who owns and operates a business for 20 years should never talk to any customer the way she is. It's completely apparent from her behaviors that she can not handle any criticism and must verbally attack those who give any.
For all she knows, someone could walk in those doors and be a food critic and give them a poor review. It's obvious this is how she behaves in response to those.
At NO point did I ever snap at her.
I've worked in the customer service industry for 25 years and would never be so rude and snotty towards any customer.
The only reason we came there is to try it out. We enjoy trying new places. My partner also had nothing to eat for over 24 hours due to a procedure he had done that day. He was hungry, so we stopped. I will put myself in an uncomfortable situation for those I love and care about. This is the type of attitude and behavior that come from an owner. It's obvious why we won't be back.
I had only a beverage there, and it wasn't good. Prices were too high. Booths are too close together. You had to literally have to squeeze into them. Friendly...
