In the summer of 2023, I decided to resize my ring after years of not wearing it and chose to support a local business, Infinity Jewelers in Waconia. They initially estimated a four-week turnaround, but after those weeks passed without updates, I called and was told it would take an additional two weeks. After more delays and over two months without progress, I visited in person and was informed that my ring wasn’t a priority due to a $20,000 purchase from another customer. Feeling undervalued, I expressed my frustration, and the ring was completed within a week. However, the resizing was poorly done, and I chose not to address it to avoid another long wait.
Months later, a diamond fell out, which they repaired quickly, but then another fell out shortly after. Frustrated, I avoided returning for two months. When I finally went back, I expressed my concerns, noting that I had never experienced such issues with the ring before. I questioned why diamonds were falling out only after their work, as this had never been a problem previously. The owner listened as I shared my dissatisfaction not only with the ring's quality but also with how I had been treated as a customer. She apologized and assured me they would make things right. She also admitted they should have informed me from the start that they were not equipped to repair the ring properly, but their jeweler, who was “raised on a farm,” had the mindset that she could fix anything.
Two weeks later, she called to request a meeting about my ring. When I arrived, she said it was unfixable, claiming that repairs would cause more diamonds to fall out because the 18-karat gold was too light and my band rubbed against the ring. She offered two options: a $150 refund or a $500 credit toward a new band from their store. When I asked if I could keep my original ring with the $500 option, she explained that the credit involved melting down my ring—essentially pushing me to buy a new engagement ring, all priced over $2,000.
Since neither option would return my original wedding ring, I sought quotes from other jewelers, who told me that my ring was repairable and that some diamonds would need to be reset due to prior work on it.
I called Infinity Jewelers to ask if they would cover the cost of another jeweler fixing their mistakes. They insisted my ring was unfixable, despite other jewelers’ opinions. She claimed I had mentioned diamonds falling out and that another jeweler warned me about my band rubbing against the ring—claims I never made or heard. I explained that my custom wedding band was designed to fit my ring, so I didn’t see how rubbing would suddenly cause diamonds to fall out after their work.
When I requested my receipts and documentation, she said she’d mail my $150 refund and abruptly hung up. When I called back, there was no answer. My husband went to the store to obtain the receipts for our records. Oddly, they claimed I wasn’t in their system and initially couldn’t find my receipts. After several minutes, they provided a receipt for the most recent repair.
I considered small claims court but decided it wasn’t worth my time, as the financial aspect isn’t my main concern. What matters most is how poorly I was treated—I felt deceived, misled, and pressured into a large purchase. While I may have seemed confrontational out of frustration, I believe it’s the business’s responsibility to remain professional, especially when a customer...
Read moreTook my engagement ring there to have the stone reset, very dismissive and rude service by the jeweler. We were told it would be done end of February when dropped off in January and never heard updates. I had to call the beginning of March to see what is happening. When I called the woman was very curt and dismissive when I asked questions and said "oh were just gluing it back on don't get it wet." When I explained it will be every day use she said a little wet is fine but just don't do the dishes or shower. That made sense so that was fine. I've had the ring back for over a week now, took it off even washing my hands and the glue is still wet, messy, sweater fiber clings to it, and it is leaving residue on my finger. I don't want to call and have it fixed by them because I know what type of service I will receive. This ring is very special to me so to have it put down and dismissed, then have a bad job done to it is so disheartening. Do not go here is you need any sort of resizing, repair, or any work that they do not do themselves it seems. They will not be kind to anyone's work...
Read moreDO NOT GO HERE!!! They stole my diamond and replaced it with a stone called moissanite. We got the ring appraised after going here because my “diamond” no longer sparkled like it used to. Low and behold, my diamond was stolen by these people. I saw a review from 2 years ago saying another woman’s diamond was stolen and the people that own the shop replied and said that that woman was not in their system. THAT IS NOT TRUE!!! I believe that women because I had the EXACT same experience. This place is the horror story of jewelers that people warn you about!!! NEVER EVER EVER go to this “jeweler” they are liars and they are thieves.
Reply to owner— I will tell my story because this is what happened to me. I will never be in contact with you or with this shop again and will continue to spread awareness on this “public forum” because you guys are thieves! I’m soooo sorry if you think I’m being rude, but you know what they say about karma. Maybe think about your business the next time you steal a stone that represents two people’s love. Have...
