TLDR: Good food, bad service, double charged one person on a 50/50 split check and denied doing it regardless of a bank statement to the contrary.
I had dinner here last week on 5/23 and I didn't have the best experience. First of all the food was pretty damn stellar, credit where credit is due whoever they've got in the kitchen is very good at what they do. Should you find yourself here the BLT flatbread is incredible which is a shame as I definitely will not be returning. The service was just abysmal. My party of 5 people was there for just under 2 hours and our waitress went missing several times. As in she's nowhere to be found and we were ready to order an appetizer, or more drinks or our entrees. On one particular occasion she was behind the bar and all five of us were looking directly at her and she happily ignored us and continued to carry on her conversation with the bartender. It wasn't the worst service I've ever had but as highly regarded and recommended Farm Table is to say I was disappointed would be an understatement. But in this day and age I've come to expect mediocre service, so long as the food is good I don't complain and I very rarely leave a bad review. In this case however I cannot let this one lie.
The bill for the 5 of us came out to $295.25 which was split 50/50 between myself and my father leaving two checks for $147.62 and 147.63 respectively. I was handed the check for $147.62 and paid with card, my father left $200 in cash in his receipt. Seeing as the service had been not so stellar we elected to leave the change from his cash as a tip and I signed my receipt with "cash" written on the tip line and the total on my receipt being $147.62. We then left. Fast forward a few days while looking through my bank statement I discovered that I had been charged for both amounts. Obviously I figured this was in error and that there had been some mistake and being a business owner myself I know that things happen and humans are human so I decided to give them the opportunity to make it right. So I drove out to Farm Table yesterday 5/30 and asked to speak to a manager and was introduced to a gentleman named Todd. After explaining what happened and even showing him a bank statement reflecting the charges he seemed dismissive and unbelieving. He asked me to email him the statement and that he would look into it. I then went home. Upon checking my email this morning I was greeted with exactly what I expected to see; Flat out denial. He attached pictures of an audit sheet showing what we had and how it was charged and told me to take it up with my bank.
So here is what I think happened, the waitress saw "cash" on the tip line and assumed that her service had been so amazing that she deserved a $200 tip. So she put the cash in her pocket and ran my card a second time. I have no way to prove this, but this is my suspicion based on the facts of the situation. I'm not going to mention the waitress by name but I'm sure she will be shown this review. I have attached screenshots showing where I was charged for both bills and their audit print out. I just think it's interesting that I was charged for both amounts down to the penny. When I went to Farm Table yesterday all I wanted was the second charge refunded, which is what I would have done in this situation had I been in Todd's shoes. His dismissiveness and lack of concern for what is tantamount to theft is the reason that I will not be returning. Nor will I edit this review unless I am given a full refund including the...

Ordered a bunch of shareables: Heirloom Salad (very fresh with beautiful tomatoes), Corn/Shrimp Cakes (hubby couldn't stop eating this), Pomme Frites (goes without saying), Eggplant Rollatini (new item, very flavorful), Bacon Mac and Cheese (you can really taste the rich, gooey variety of cheeses). I especially enjoyed the Pomegranate Martini. Asked for less sugar/simple syrup as I do not like my drinks too sweet. Our lovely waitress accommodated each request and was very pleasant and attentive. Thank you, Farm Table, for your hard work and efforts to make patron's experience most enjoyable and memorable!
12May2023 Bring back the House Pomme Frites! We were lectured by the server that 'fried potatoes' is a seasonal item and thus not available on the menu. After we stopped laughing at this ridiculous comment, we ordered a few plates, but I do not think we'll be back anytime soon.
21Oct2022 Farm Table never disappoints! We went to try the Fall menu in our favorite restaurant in Wake Forest and loved every bite. Especially pleased how they've integrated super-sweet, busboys scouting the tables for empty dishes to take away so that the server can spend quality time with the patrons. From decor to food and service - 100 points!
Previous Review Finally, back at our favorite Wake Forest restaurant and can hardly wait for another visit! Food, ambiance and service - superb as usual. Our server, Kim, was very attentive and personable. She had great suggestions, listened and delivered on every request we made. We had some questions about our main dish, the Cornmeal Crusted Trout, and Todd, the restaurant manager, came to talk to us. He could not be more accommodating and amiable. We really enjoyed the Fall menu. Everything we ate was fresh, flavorful and made with good quality ingredients. The chef is obviously a master! So grateful for all the hard work and incredible effort put into maintaining the restaurant open during this challenging time! Food: House Pomme Frites - We get them each time we eat here. They are to die for and complement every item on the menu. Oven Roasted Beet & Peach Salad Eggplant Napoleon Fried Green Tomatoes Cornmeal Crusted Trout Drinks: Elderflower Manhattan Be...
Read moreI really want to give this place a good review because the food is pretty good but the service was so awful that the food simply can't make up for it. I've eaten there several times and the service has always been mediocre at best but this most recent time will be the last. First off drinks took 10 minutes and the waiter never came by once during that time to take our food order. After we finally got our order in, it took well over half an hour to come out! The waiter came by twice and each time nervously said that "it never takes this long". It finally came out and the sides were cold while the meat was hot. Quite obviously our plates had been sitting in the window a while. My husband and mom had steak with no steak knifes (they never got any by the way) and the waiter took yet another ten minutes to come check on us to see how we were. I told him the sides were cold and he offered to heat them up. We said no because we were already halfway done because it took him so long to check on us and we were so hungry we didn't want to wait any longer. So the waiter walked away. After that we just never saw him again. We had to flag down someone else to get another drink and absolutely no one cleared our empty plates. They sat there for almost 15 minutes until after the waiter finally dropped the check and asked if there was anything else he could do. At the same time, my dad and I responded, "take the dirty plates!"
When you're paying as much as this place costs you expect the entire experience to be good. There was a breakdown at every point in this meal, busboy's ignored us, other servers ignored us and our dirty plates, even a manager walked by. I can't remember the last time I have had worse service and as a former waitress I'm usually a guaranteed 20% tipper so it's frustrating when it's so bad. I can safely say that the food (especially when it's cold) is not worth how bad the...
