Their food is delicious but trying to actually order it is the issue. Their service and their hours are ridiculously unpredictable. Time and time again we have tried to place delivery or to-go orders only to have the online ordering be shut down right in front of our eyes while we are placing the order. (And no, it’s not because they’re about to close. These were times we were ordering within 50-90 minutes before they were going to close).
Multiple times I have called to place an order only to be greeted by their answering machine (once again, this is during their usual open hours). Multiple times I called when they were still supposed to be open for awhile, only to be told by the staff member that they’re closing early that night and no longer taking orders.
And another time I called to place an order only to have the employee tell me “hold on a second” - he put the call on hold and never returned. I hung up and tried to call back only to get a busy signal for the rest of the evening.
It’s so crazy that I have started to wonder if I’m in the Twilight Zone or if there’s some kind of running joke going on. I can’t imagine that a business could sustain itself with service this terrible and hours this flexible. But they do always seem busy and the food is incredibly good - which is why we keep coming back and trying again, after so many disappointing episodes with orders. So I think that has helped them get by with this poor customer experience and stay in business.
If taking orders for delivery and pick-up is too much for them to keep up with, then they need to just stop offering it. At least if we knew it wasn’t an option, we wouldn’t even...
Read moreWe were craving Thai/Chinese this Saturday evening and looking for something casual. Our 1st visit and frankly I can’t imagine why some rated it low, we had an excellent experience and the restaurant was full of diners.
You can dine outside or in, we chose inside at a table but they also have booths or seating at the bar. They have a full bar, so martinis, beer, wine, whatever you want. The wine list is basic but expected for a casual restaurant.
We brought my mother, so 3 adults. We had a Sauvignon Blanc, iced tea and a coke. I like extra ice, asked for it and she brought me a huge glass of ice on the side and refilled it 3x. We all had a starter… wonton soup (HUGE bowl) and it was tasty with freshly made wontons and very clear broth, the spring rolls (delish), and a rainbow roll which was BOGO, so 2 rolls! Zero complaints so far.
For dinner we had the Panang Curry with chicken, Broccoli lovers with chicken and tons of shiitake mushrooms and the Broccoli lovers with beef, both Thai hot spice level. Our meals were huge, delicious, our spicy level was excellent… if you like spicy, they actually make it HOT.
Our server was excellent constantly checking on us, there were lots of employees working so it seemed like a well oiled machine. We have zero complaints and will definitely return. Our bill was $95 plus tip which was a great deal for all we ordered.
Why 4 stars not 5? Just for the overall casual decor/atmosphere. It was 5 stars for Thai and fully acceptable...
Read moreMy family and I went there on a Friday evening around 7pm. They were busy but the place wasn't packed. I specifically told our server that we're really hungry before ordering our food. It took 45 minutes for spring roll appetizers to come out, and then the server informs me that our food will take another 15 minutes after we had already waited 45 minutes. We only ordered two dishes. She could've told me it would take that long when I ordered the food, especially since I specifically told her I was starving (and pregnant). She goes on to inform me that right before I came in, they had a rush of orders so it only made sense to wait this long. Then why wasn't I informed sooner?? By the time we wasted 45 minutes to pay $4 for tiny spring rolls and be told our food would take another 15 minutes, I knew I had to write my very first restaurant review. It was the biggest waste of time and money.
I understand being busy (we are in the restaurant industry), but I'm upset she waited 45 minutes to ask me if it's okay that my food will take another 15 minutes to come out. If you can't handle the rush, inform your customers it'll take abnormally long for food to come out before seating them.
Don't go there if they have more than a few tables and you can't wait long for food. It shouldn't take an hour for two dishes to come out no matter how busy...
