I'm going to save everyone a lot of time and potential stomach issues...Aye Toro next to Taza Grill in Wake Forest may be the worst Mexican food I have ever eaten with the exception of their salsa, which was actually really good. The first warning sign was the fact that the doors were locked after they were supposed to be open. The second sign was the fact that aside from us, there were only 2 people in the place during lunchtime. From there it only got worse. I ordered the Chili Relleno meal (2 chilis, 2 sides) but instead I got a single pepper, on a side plate, with no sides, sitting in some liquid that I can only assume was excess moisture from the pepper, topped with ground beef just poured over it. My wife got something that was supposed to be a quesadilla but instead was a giant tortilla swimming in so much grease and oil that the entire plate was orange. The refried beans looked like a cup of thousand island dressing and were just as terrible as everything else. When the server finally realized what I was trying to explain about the mix-up with my meal, he offered to bring me a second pepper but that's sort of beside the point. Then when I got the bill they charged me $6 for a single pepper then $5 on top of that for the topping that was supposed to come with it...for a total of $11 for a single pepper that also happened to taste awful. Imagine if he would've brought me a second one...$22 for 2 peppers and no sides...or more to the point, more than the meal was supposed to be at $17 originally!! All of this really doesn't matter much because the food was atrocious. I hate to see local businesses not do well but sometimes you've just got to call it like you see it...you've...
Read moreStopped in here a couple times with my brother and both times we have had a very good experience! My only complaint about this place is that there is no beer menu, or way to see what kind of beer they have. Especially when you have beer on tap you should have some kind of beer menu! Either using UnTapped as an online beer menu, or a physical one. And when I asked the server last time what beer they had she had no idea. I had to get up from my seat and go to the bar to check it out. Not the biggest issue, but it is a suggestion 😊 I also think letting people know what you have on tap would help sales!
Anyways, back to the food. I've tried the burrito san Antonio which was fantastic. Large portion and superrr flavorful! The queso and chips are also good, salsa isn't too spicy either! The last trip I tried the mixed fajitas and it was packed with flavor! I definitely think we'll be going back!

Read moreWe’ve eaten at this location several times since they’ve opened. Everyone is welcoming and friendly. The chips and salsa are deliciou, portions are plentiful and everyone in my family loves what they order. Our family has tried to the Toro Burrito, Choripollo Quesadilla, ACP, Chicken Fajitas and Chicken Flautas - all fresh and tasty. The prices are on par with other local Mexican restaurants, and the restaurant environment is clean, bright and inviting. I was reading through other reviews and noticed someone gave this restaurant one star. ⭐️ I couldn’t see how that could possibly be justified. After clicking on her profile, it looks like she gives just about every business 1 star. Definitely give this restaurant a try. We’ll definitely continue to be regulars. Five...
