Normally, I have gotten great customer service when ordering and paying at Dairy Depot. Tonight, that was not the case with *Juliana who identified herself as a manager at the drive-thru window.
Long story short, you can't substitute or remove any items from the basic banana split and the manager adds additional charges to your bill, without notifying you or asking you, even though you've ordered the same thing 10 other times without being charged additional fees!!
I asked to substitute the chocolate syrup for pineapple on my banana split. I was told by Juliana that I can not substitute the toppings on the banana split which is considered a 'specialty sundae'. I then asked for NO chocolate syrup at all and Juliana tells me that they can't make alterations AT ALL on the banana split either!
After going back and forth about no chocolate on the banana split, as I was about to cancel the whole order, Juliana says, she can get 'hit' the no chocolate button this time! At this point, I should have just driven off and gone to another ice cream establishment for my kids.
Ive never been anywhere where you can't take off a topping on an item, unless of course its "pre-made" or already baked/cooked into the item. Thats most definitely not the case with a plain ole, basic banana split priced at $7.25 without tax and with the basic, regular toppings on it!! Ridiculous!
I get to the drive-thru window, pay with a card, thinking the cost was higher than usual because of the banana split (that Ive never ordered before). While waiting for all of my orders, I check my emailed receipt and see an extra $1.20 charge labeled "extra candy x 2". I ask Juliana what the charge was for and she says it was for the 2 additional slushie flavors mixed in my son's slushie. Again ridiculous and it does not mention that on the menu!!
I tell her as many times that I've been there, I've never been charged extra to mix the slushie flavors (all my receipts are automatically emailed). Juliana tells me its because they train alot of teenagers and the teenagers may not know to charge. Well, I inform Juliana that she did not disclose that it would be an extra charge for mixing flavors before charging me. Juliana literally told me its an "implied" charge!!
Instead of becoming even more frustrated, I asked if there was anyone else I could talk with. Of course there wasn't, she also said the next person to talk to was the owner and I can drop by tomorrow to see if they're there, but can't tell me when.
There was a young boy working who also was slightly unprofessional while Juliana was speaking with me trying to whisper to Juliana I assume some lie for her to tell me so I can get going but Juliana did handle that well and he went on his way as he should have.
All in all, I'm really disappointed and not at all interested in having them occur again. Looking for a new spot since the weather is breaking. Cause getting a banana split with no chocolate and mixing flavors in a slushie is not worth the headache or time. The banana split was not good either, even with no chocolate. Dairy Queen's banana splits taste alot better, and does not come with the hassle of getting it fixed the...
Read moreThis place is terrible !!! Website says open until 10pm Friday/Saturday, just to set the tone. So family is waiting in line at 8:55(very long line). By the time we get to the window (9:25 mind you) we are told they actually closed at 9pm, so sorry. There were at least 7-10 cars behind us still and since there was a sign saying “speaker broken, pull up to order” a dozen us of sat in line almost 30 minutes without anyone stepping out of the little hut to let folks know they were closing early. 2 cars in front of us were last to order. What a joke !!! Not even an ounce of concern that they had customers waiting for a half hour to be told at the window after all that waiting “ oops We’re Closed” Never again, not another dollar of mine will this place get. Too many options, Dairy Queen, Goodberry’s, even Culver’s. Go elsewhere where they actually care about...
Read moreGood example of quality vs quantity. Far as quantity goes, this location is astronomical. The quality however, is subpar and this was disappointing. The menu could use a little more descriptive words considering the variety of flavors are so grand. We asked the cashier what did she recommend and most popular menu choices and she she asked her colleagues - no one provided an answer. When I worked in the restaurant industry, I could easily answer these types of questions. They were out of Oreos, which is remarkable because surely a manager could have went to the grocery store and purchased a few packs. We ordered a strawberry cone which had an artificial strawberry taste, so it was disgusting. We also ordered a train wreck with M&Ms and chocolate chips - this was better. Other fast food restaurants and ice cream parlors in the area would have been a...
