Feng Cha Wake Forest — Restaurant in Wake Forest

Just got my boba now from Feng Cha and I loved it!! Tasted wonderful and would definitely recommend going there. I saw a one star review saying they use lactaid instead of whole milk in their teas and what not and there isn’t proper disclosure. Well they have it in clear parenthesis that it is “non dairy”. I did ask the staff about this and she kindly explained to me that their teas are crafted using creamer that isn’t whole milk but that is their standard because there are Asians and African American people who are sensitive to milk. And to that one star reviewer, I don’t see a problem with that. Is there a problem with a business that caters to minorities and puts their concerns as a priority first? As a POC living in this community it’s really disheartening to see that people still think that’s a problem and then go on to blame a business and leave them multiple negative reviews. They clearly state this in their menu and if you have such a problem you can always ask them to substitute it with whole milk. Also FYI, boba and boba tea is derived from the Asian culture. So respect us and respect the business’ choice to cater to us. There are many other places that cater to you so please go ahead with those. Been here twice so far and the tea is amazing and very authentic tasting and potent. I come here specifically for the herbal jelly as the nearby competitor does not have this topping on their menu. Although I can use more herbal jelly in my cup, but if this is the recipe then so be it. The only thing I feel this establishment can improve on is their lack of greetings when a customer walk in. The two times I been there, I was not greeted at all with a “ hello.” The silence is extremely awkward until I spoke up and asked about their limited menu. Wondering why they use Lactaid. They claim 80-90% of their customers are lactose intolerant. Sooo that means most of your customers are African American? Doubtful. Because according to the NIH a small percentage of caucasians are lactose intolerant but 85% of African Americans are. I think your statistics are bonkers. Funny how come Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts, every coffee shop and other Boba place uses real whole milk not Lactaid? And where are my choices when I order online because I don't see any.
