I Love Tropical Smoothie Cafe, so my review is not based on the products sold, its on this particular location. I have been to several location in the Grand Rapids area and never experienced this kind of behavior. I went to this location on 4/23/2017 around 8:50pm, I totally forgot they were closing at 9:00pm. Not once did the greeter, Bethany mention they were closing, then I would have just left the drive through, instead they took our order. I had my wife order the Pecan Berry Salad Sandwich, then she ordered a totally Turkey wrap, I then immediately changed mines, I stated, " Can you do mines in a wrap instead of a sandwich," the greeter voice changed and it was a male, Kyle who stated your sandwich is already made and since we are closing I'm not going to re-make it. I thought we weren't even done placing our order and not even a minute has passed, and my sandwich is already done, so I didn't literally say anything to him, just was thinking, so I decided to keep the sandwich and proceeded with our order, we also got two smoothies. So once we got to the window, Kyle told us our total was 25.80. I told him I had a coupon, if I bought a sandwich I get a smoothie for a 1.99. Kyle took the coupon and discounted our meal only a 1.99, bringing the total to 23.81. I asked him are you sure you made one of the smoothies a 1.99, He replied back with a rude yes. So my wife game him the money and he gave her a receipt, just with the total on it. I then asked for an itemized receipt. Kyle, then left and know Bethany shows back up, gives us our food and the itemize receipt. To remind you we waited about 10-15 minutes for our food, so how my sandwhich was already made. As inspected he did not charge 1.99 for the smoothie. My wife signaled for Bethany and she immediately ran to the back. I then get out the car too knock on the drive-through window and they turned all the lights off and ran to the back. So I told my wife to forget it, but we then tasted our smoothies and nothing was right. At this point I didn't trust the food either, because of the childish behavior from these two. Now I'm mad and called the number to leave the manager a message, letting them know I will be back tomorrow with all food to complain about how I was treated. I had my wife pull in the front of the store while I'm leaving the message, that when we see them steady running to the back. So at this time I decide to wait, wishing they call the police, so we wait. A car pulls up with 3 individuals and they appear to be approaching the store, so I ask them do you work here. Hannah said yes, I'm the manager. Happy to see her, we then explain the situation. Hannah you seem to be a great manager, but need to evaluate your employees more. You are franchising and their behavior is reflecting off this wonderful brand Tropical Smoothie has established. You noted that you own the Wilson location and that is great. I suggest that you stop this behavior right now, so that it will not reflect on you. I'm glad you showed up and gave us our money back and some coupons, but all this could have been avoided, if you had employees who care about customer satisfaction. I'm in no way trying to bash you Hannah, but I'm going to stay away from this location, they don't no how to treat customers.

I was so disappointed to see how much gunk and slime and basically rotting greens there were. Could not eat it. š«
I went back and talked to the manager who offered several times to remake it for me. I asked her to address how she's going to make sure that doesn't happen again. No clear answer from her on that, except for repeating her offer to remake the salad. She explained that the person who made the salad was new, along with most of the staff. That's totally understandable, but even a new person wouldn't serve a salad that looked that gross. All it takes is someone who cares about what they're making for a customer. I mean, if you have eyes, you'll see that greens are gunky and rotten as you're assembling it.
I left with my newly-remade salad, only to find in the car that although the greens were in much better shape, the cilantro had black gunk on it. I called the manager back and was like what the ..., how does it happen that you've remade the salad and didn't make sure to put fresh-looking...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is the worst Smoothie place Iāve ever been too, every time on second shift an Iāve been there in the morning but this night shift is the worst, I ask for my smoothie chunky an I donāt get it chunky, my boyfriend tonight with thru the drive thru asked for a pineapple mango smoothie with strawberryās, an I didnāt know that they put no fat yogurt in it, im highly allergic to dairy my throat will close up if I have it, an well it sure did, all we asked for was a mango pineapple, strawberry smoothie, didnāt ask for it to have yogurt in it, Iāve asked at other smoothie shops I got from standale to alpine to Kalamazoo never had any problems but I seem to always have problems with this place I would never recommend this place at all, you lost a costumer due to the negligence of how your employees are to costumer im always having problems at this one, an itās only on the night shift I went there this morning asked for the same thing besides it had blue berrys an well it didnāt have yogurt in it. I get you need help but maybe have a talk or two with the night shift cause...
