Rosa's Deli has been my favorite place to grab a sandwich for as long as I can remember. Today, I ordered their classic American Combo sandwich without tomato. However, when I opened the sandwich, I was disappointed with the lack of deli meats and cheese in it. One side of my sandwich literally had three slices of deli meat. It’s disappointing, especially considering that the sandwich costs $7.99. Back in the day, when the sandwich was only $3.50, it was PACKED and the best deal in town. I understand that business costs have gone up, but the quality of the food should not decrease if we are expected to pay more.

I came to Rosa’s because I wanted to make some Italian Pignoli cookies and I couldn’t find almond paste anywhere! So my mom thought they might have it so I stopped in on a weekday evening. I started checking out the scene and looking for little cans of almond paste but I did notice they had a refrigerator section with bunches of pignoli nuts and then these bags of paste. So I asked the woman behind the counter if they had almond paste. Lo and behold! That was it in the bags! So I grabbed two lbs of almond paste. I also saw that they had all the classic Christmas cookies all there ready to go. (Why was I even making cookies then?!) I also grabbed a half lb of their Mortadella as a little snack for the rest of my drive. Some even made it home and my Italian mother was so excited. Excellent quality! The 2 lbs of almond paste made about 60 4 oz cookies and a 9 x 13 pan of Almond Bars just incase :) I’ll be back to Rosa’s next time to try the Ricotta Salata and all the cheeses when I build my charcuterie...

I used to LOVE this place for one thing: vegan vegetable soup. Called today and they don’t even make it anymore… What the hell? Why can’t you make it and just toss some slaughtered animals in it for people?🤷🏻‍♀️ Plenty of other local places offer vegan items, so that’s where I’ll go now. 👋

Rosa’s deli - I apologize if I missed hearing that you discontinue the vegan vegetable soup only during the summer! I thought I was told it’s not made anymore, that’s what made me sad.
